Surekha tells the judge that Rani didn't commit the crime. She is called to the witness box. The judge asks her as to who is the culprit if it isn't Rani. Surekha says that it is her daughter, Saloni. She tells the judge that Saloni had an affair with Vikram but when Rani exposed his true nature in front of Saloni, she stopped meeting him but he kept on blackmailing her. Saloni then narrates everything. The other lawyer says that one can't deny the fact that Rani murdered Vikram because he did not agree to leave Saloni alone. He asks the judge to punish Rani. The judge says that Rani had indeed committed the murder and is about to announce his decision when Ritu arrives and requests the judge to listen to what she has to say first. She goes to the witness box and says that it wasn't Rani, but she who killed Vikram. She tells him that she loved Vikram a lot but he cheated on her and when she found out about this, she completely lost control over herself. She says that when she went to meet Vikram at the hotel, she found him wounded and lying on the floor but when he got up, he started choking her, thinking that she was Rani so she pushed him away but as he hit the ground, his stomach got pierced in the bar tool, which was on the floor and he started bleeding heavily and then stopped breathing. She tells him that she got so scared and ran away from there, then immediately fled to Pune but when she read about Rani's arrest, she hurried back. After a while, the judge announces his decision. He says that Vikram's death was an accident, which was not due to the fault of Rani or Ritu. He asks the police to reinvestigate the case and orders Ritu not to leave the city. He then declares Rani innocent and releases her. Rani is overwhelmed. Everyone is happy for her. Rani's dad and family hug her. Her dad tells her that she has made him very proud of her. Rani then joins Surekha, Raj, and the rest. Surekha hugs her and Raj, and then tells Yash that she is extremely sorry for the way she behaved with him and Rani. She promises him that she would give Rani so much happiness from now on. Everyone is happy with the change in Surekha.
When Rani, Raj, Surekha, and the rest reach home, they join the Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations with the rest of the chawl residents.
