yeah your right, even your Miss World's get a fair chance in bollywood same as star kids.

@ Koizaa: Tanisha did star in a few movies, but she neither had the talent nor the screen presence. She did get a fair chance in bollywood though. I'm not saying its the case with every single star kid. But there are more chances of one getting an easier access into the industry if you have a superstar father, mother or grandparent in the business.

Looks, screen presence, star quality, a little of talent are what matters tbh. Luv sinha, etc don't have all these qualities. Hence, they haven't got a chance.

Tanisha

Luv Sinha
Khush Sinha

why didn't these star kids ever get noticed? what happens to the star kids philosophy here?

If you look like Luv and Kush Sinha and not Sonakshi Sinha, you need to have the screen presence and ability to impress on screen like a Shotgun. Luv was terrible, Khush, was he in a movie ?

Tanisha - Comes from 3 generations of actresses, has a successful sister whose only calling card is talent, not looks and yet is terrible. Like rather poke your eyes than watch her terrible. Talent is not genetic, exhibit A.

Faisal Khan - Being the blood brother of a mega talented superstar Aamir does not mean you are talented. Exhibit B, add Arbaaz and Sohail to this. Yes, Salman is talented, for making people around the world like you for 20+ years something must be there.

Rinkie Khanna - Being the daughter of a talented superstar and a goddess of a woman can sometimes produce people like Rinke Khanna. Talent and looks again are not genetic, it skips generations. Exhibit C. Still not the biggest example, Esha Deol is the biggest example of this.

The star kids who can act or who are better than the rest last, true. The bad ones are left behind. True. But star kids get OPPORTUNITIES which are just as important and sometimes even more important than acting well. They get bigger films, ones that people are more likely to see, with generally better directors. They have more people backing them...they have their parent's goodwill, they know how to act offscreen, how the game works, etc. They are better prepared in that sense too.
Heck even an Esha Deol worked with YRF, Mani Ratnam, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan etc. Abhishek Bachchan has worked with a bunch of big names, big PH's...folks that most new outsiders would love to work with for various reasons..Mani Ratnam, Karan Johar, Balki, etc...that he isn't successful is another story, but he got the opportunities.

Ididn't say Karan forced Imtiaz to take Alia, obviously that would never happen. But I read somewhere that he talked to Imtiaz about casting Alia in Highway...after which Imtiaz saw potential in Alia and cast her. I dunno how true it is. A recommendation helps too.
