Seriously, does the man even have a positive thought? From the Lakshagriha incident he doesn't have a single hope of success! useless.

The one line which can undo ALL the discussions of Draupadi being disrobed or not:

When I heard that the wicked wretch Duhsasana, was striving to strip her of that single garment, had only drawn from her person a large heap of cloth without being able to arrive at its end, then, O Sanjaya, I had no hope of success.

So, even if people say that the later Parva can be interpolations.. here Dhriti himself is saying it at the very beginning of the epic.

So, thank you, and Dhritarashtra is one ray of sunshine.

Oh yes but right before this he said that when Dushi dragged her in he had no hope even then ...

So nothing, absolutely nothing gave him hope ..

I just dont get him ..
Dhrit ..

Noo! Why should Krishna kill his ancestor who is anyway dead?
My proof for this is:

SB 9.23.29: Of the sons of Talajangha, Vitihotra was the eldest. The son of Vitihotra named Madhu had a celebrated son named Vrishni. Madhu had one hundred sons, of whom Vrishni was the eldest. The dynasties known as Yadava, Madhava and Vrishni had their origin from Yadu, Madhu and Vrishni.

SB 9.23.30-31: O Maharaja Parikshit, because Yadu, Madhu and Vrishni each inaugurated a dynasty, their dynasties are known as Yadava, Madhava and Vrishni.

So who is the Madhu he slayed?

And so Madhava is a title and not a name then? Like All the Vrishnis were Madhavas.
Wow, thanks.

There are different Madhus concerning Krishna. The ancestor Madhu is from where he got the name Madhava. He also has a friend Madhumangala. The honey bee, which is called Madhupa in Sanskrit is often used to compare him with.
The demon Madhu, whom he killed, comes at the very beginning of creation. (Gives youacosmic feeling, no?)
Two demons, Madhu and Kaitabha were born from Lord Vishnu's ears, and started threatening Brahma himself. Since they were Vishnu-born, they could not be killed by anyone else. So when Lord Vishnu fought them, they were influenced by Devi Kali, and became very pleased, and in a state of illusion, gave Vishnu a boon that he can kill them. But they should be killed only on a place where there is no water. So Vishnu expanded himself, placed the two demons on his thighs and cut off their heads. Because of this, he is called Madhusudana and Kaitabhari etc.

But I am digressing from the topic.

But then, Madhava is specially for Krishna.
Because, Ma means Lakshmi, and Dhava means lover. So Madhava means lover of Lakshmi, who is none other than _________.

😆 You mean the one who belongs to the Yadu race.🤣

He is a Yadav because he was born in the race of Yadu who was the Son of Yayeti and brother of Puru.

Yadu's race is Yadavas
Puru's race is Kuru
Yayeti made Puru the King, not Yadu though he was supposed to be the king. So Kurus and Yadus are all related.
That is why Krishna was related to Kauravas too.
In the end Yadu's blood relative, Abhimanyu's son Parikshit became the King.
Since the Pandavas were not blood related to Kuru's so Parikshit had no Kuru( Puru) blood in him.
Yayeti's unfairness was corrected after ages and the descendant of the rightful heir sat on the throne.

And he is called Madhav because he killed Madhu

Slayer of Madhu = Madhava😆

HEY I ACTUALLY READ IN KMG THAT Krishna belonged to Madhu race because one of his ancestors was Madhu who belonged to Vrishini race

Yadava heroes without fear of any kind? O slayer of all foes, we are now living in that city. And, O tiger of the Kuru race, considering the inaccessibility of that first of mountains and regarding themselves as having already crossed the fear of Jarasandha, the descendants of Madhu have become exceedingly glad. Thus, O king, though possessed of strength and energy, yet from the oppressions of Jarasandha we have been obliged to repair to the mountains of Gomanta, measuring three Yojanas in length.

This was in Rajasuya Arambha parva
