OMGG TOI article for Roop :O

She is only two shows old (she played Dari Dari Pari in Baal Veer, and Sanchi in Balika Vadhu), but Roop Durgapal has a big fan-following, which was evident when she was in Vadodara to shoot for a commercial.

A number of fans gathered to get her autographs and pictures, and Roop happily obliged. "This is my first trip to Vadodara, and I am delighted to see so many fans," Roopal said before settling down for an chat. Excerpts:

Your role in Balika Vadhu is a complex one. How has the experience been so far? 'Awesome' is the word to describe it! Very few actresses get to play a role like Sanchi on TV and I feel blessed that I got this show. The character has many shades, from being a spoilt brat to having negative traits, and portraying so many different shades has helped a lot as an actress. I don't see myself playing the docile, submissive bahu on television! It has been refreshing to play a realistic character with which people can relate.

And how was the experience in Baal Veer, your first show? It was an endearing show and I had a fabulous experience. As a kid, I would keep telling my younger sister that I was a fairy who had come here to spend time with them. And I actually got to play one!

You have played parallel leads in both your shows. What genre would you prefer when you get a lead role? I am eagerly waiting to play the lead role in a romantic show! I have such a strong role in Balika Vadhu, but none of the guys in the show romance me on screen. So, my next on-screen outing has got to have lots of romance!

At what point did you decide to become an actor? While I am a software engineer (B Tech), I always wanted to act and I feel happy to be living my dream.


Are you open to doing reality shows? Oh yes! I sing quite well and am waiting to be a part of a musical reality show.

How would you describe yourself as a person? I am very outspoken, can be pretty stubborn at times and also, very straightforward. I am pretty outgoing and love partying.

Very few actresses get to play a role like Sanchi on TV and very few actresses ruin the character as well as the whole show with their presence and bad acting...Credit goes to u for that for sure...1.98 TRPs aap hi ki fatal acting ki wajese humko naseeb hua hai...

Tfs.. There was a similar article few days back wherein she was saying the same about her character. Really, Sanchi is a complex and multishaded character 😆 Then what about Anandi or Jagya or DS Sorry, but I do not find the character complex.. It has only one shed, arrogance and self centered attitude, till now.

sanchi as vamp does not appeal to me .bv cvs end gauri character abruptly .they send gauri to foreign country and there gauri is enjoying life .and i am also not interested in seeing sanchi mother inlaw father as vamp . i like kanchan mother in law as negative character

DS and Gauri were top notch negative characters (when their tracks were on). Sanchi's nothing. Wondering what she has done to merit such "praise" for her?!

While her godfather is at it, why doesn't he get her in BV montage also?

So I suppose this puts paid to the theory that she doesn't have fans?
