It was almost 2pm and finally Viren was done with all his meetings and work commitments. Because of the baby coming soon and Viren and Jeevika taking a small trip together this weekend, he had to finish everything possible. As Viren got into the car he called Jeevika to find out if she wanted to go have lunch with him. He called her on her cell phone and then the home phone but she wasn't picking up. He then remembered she was talking on the phone with Manvi regarding going out. Viren quickly dialed Manvi's number to find out there whereabouts while he started driving. v - "Manvi!!! Hi, How are you?"
m - "I'm fine, how are you? Ready for this weekend?"
v - "Yes I finally am. Are you guys shopping?"
m - "Yeah Jeevika, Zoya, and I had gone but I'm home now"
v - "Oh so Jeevika's probably asleep at home because she wasn't picking up the phone"
m - "No she's at the doctors. She said she had to go for her appointment so she went there straight after lunch"
v - "Oh really? Okay thanks for letting me know. I'll see you guys tomorrow"
m - "Okay, bye!"
Viren wondered why Jeevika had to go to the doctors when her appointment was next week. Luckily the doctors office was a few minutes away from where he was currently. He took a left turn to the medical area and found parking. He locked the car and walked upstairs knowing the exact location of Jeevika's doctors office. As he walked in he saw a nurse behind the counter.
v - "Hi, is my wife Jeevika here? I think she had an appointment"
nurse - "Yeah I can take you inside the room"
Viren walked in past the door and then the nurse took him to another room. She knocked on the door first and opened it up. She saw Jeevika laying down on the bed who was expecting the doctor to come in, but instead came in Viren.
nurse - "The doctor should be here soon" she said smiling and then leaving shutting the door.
j - "Viren what are you doing here?" she said sitting up
v - "You didn't tell me you had an appointment today? I thought it was next week"
j - "Yeah it was, but remember we're going to be out of town and we may not have been back so I asked to change it. They called me in the morning asking if I could come today instead so I said okay"
v - "Well good that you came, but you should have messaged me that your coming here"
j - "Yeah but you have been so busy and stressed the past week and I didn't know what time you would be free today"
v - "I finished my last meeting this morning so just finished some other work and then called you"
j - "Today Zoya, Manvi, and I had so much fun. I can't wait till tomorrow now"
v - "I know I can't wait either"
Finally there was a knock on the door and the doctor walked in.
dr - "Hi Jeevika, Viren how are you guys"
j - "Great thanks"
The doctor sat on her chair while opening up Jeevika's charts.
dr - "So how you are feeling?"
j - "Fine, but getting much bigger than the first time around"
dr - "Lets see"
The doctor started checking the babes heartbeat. She smiled giving a sort of relief to Viren and Jeevika both. She then started the sonography letting Viren and Jeevika both see their daughter on the screen. Viren held Jeevika's hand sharing the moment with her. They both were really excited for their daughter to come now.
j - "She's moving a lot right now" she said feeling the movements inside her.
dr. - "Yeah she is" she said still looking at the screen "She looks bigger for sure and her heartbeat is strong"
j - "How much does she weigh right now?"
dr. - "Close to five pounds. So there's a few things to discuss. Firstly since she is your second born and also since she is quiet bigger, it is possible you will go into labour a few days maybe even weeks early"
v - "Exactly how early? Actually a couple of days ago she had some really bad contractions, but it stopped after a few hours"
dr. - "Well since she's already had a case of false labour it could be much sooner. Also the baby is breach which may be a problem if she doesn't turn around"
j - "What? She's breach?" she said getting all panicky now
dr. - "Unfortunately but don't stress much because there's still time and she will be moving a lot so hopefully by the time you go into labour she's in the right spot" she said smiling.
Jeevika was starting to sweat getting all nervous of the whole procedure again. So many questions were going through her mind now of whether the baby would be okay or not. Viren just smiled at her though trying to convey that everything was okay and would be too.
dr. - "If you guys have any other questions let me know"
v - "No I think thats it"
dr. - "Great, I'll see you guys soon"
j - "Thank You"
As the doctor left the room, Jeevika slowly got up from the bed and went inside the bathroom to change back into her clothes while Viren waited outside in the waiting area. As soon as Jeevika got out, they walked out to their car together holding each others hands.
v - "I know you're scared and panicked, but don't worry it will be fine"
j - "I hope so"
v - "Lets focus on our trip now. Why don't you go home and start packing and I'll go pick up Zaaine quickly"
j - "Are you sure? I can go pick him up"
v - "No I'm sure. I'll pick him up some food and bring him home"
j - "Okay" she said letting go of his hand.
Jeevika unlocked the car and Viren went over to open the door for her. Jeevika got in smiling and then Viren closed the door shut letting her drive out.
As soon as Jeevika reached home she went inside feeling lazy and tired now. She entered the garage and got inside the house setting her eyes on the couch and eventually just lay down. Though she had so much packing to do not only for her, but for Zaaine as well, she just wanted to relax and eat but didn't know what. She called Viren quickly to see where he was.
j - "Viren where are you?"
v - "Zaaine and I just got in the car, we will be home in sometime"
j - "But Viren I feel like eating something?"
v - "What do you want to eat?"
j - "I don't know" 😔
v - "Well do you want something sweet like ice cream?"
As soon as he said ice cream, Jeevika could hear Zaaine getting excited in the back wanting to have that.
j - "No there's already some at home. Viren I don't know what I want but I want something"
v - "Uhmm cheese pizza?"
j - "No"
v - "Donuts?"
j - "No"
v - "Rice noodles?"
j - "No"
v - "Macaroons?"
j - "No"
v - "Then would you kindly tell me what you want?"
j - "I don't know!!!!"
v - "Okay I'll bring you some things and eat whatever you want from that.
j - "Okay but come home in like ten minutes"
v - "Jeevika its going to take more than ten minutes I hope you know"
j - "Grrr... fine no more than 30. Now focus on driving and come home with something good"
v - "Okay okay... bye!"
j - "Bye"
Jeevika tried to entertain herself with the tv, but she was getting really hungry now so she went to the kitchen and took the the huge tub of Ben and Jerry's brownie ice cream and sat on the kitchen-counter with her huge spoon digging out the ice cream. She was so focused on finding the brownie bites that she didn't even realize when Viren and Zaaine walked inside together. They both had bags of groceries in their hands.
j - "How much stuff did you guys bring?"
z - "Mommy lots and lots of stuff. Chocolates, chips, and candy also"
j - "But Viren we're going to be out this whole weekend so why did you bring so much?"
v - "Well you couldn't decide what you wanted to eat so I picked out every one of your favorite things" he said coming close to her near the counter.
Viren placed his hands on Jeevika's waist and cautiously helped helped her get off the counter. As soon as she did she went and saw all that Viren brought. She looked through the piles of bags and saw all her favorite things but nothing was looking good enough for her... until... she saw some nutella! She took it out of the bag and first kissed Viren in excitement.
j - "This is perfect!!! I love you so much"
v - "You love me or the nutella?"
j - "Both, but right now the nutella a little more" 😛
v - "Why don't you go sit on the couch and I'll bring you some. And Zaaine go change and wash your hands fast"
z - "Okay Daa" he said running upstairs to his room.
Jeevika went back to sit on the couch while Viren cut up some strawberries for her and put some nutella on a plate for her. He took it to the couch and could literally see Jeevika drooling just looking at him.
v - "You know I'd like to believe that you're drooling at how sexy I look, but sadly I know this nutella is making you more turned on than me"
j - "That's what happens when you're 8 months preggo"
v - "What? You stop fnding your husband sexy?"
j - "No you find them sexy only when they're cooking in the kitchen for you or feeding you food"
v - "Gosh you and your food! Here's your strawberries and nutella. Please don't eat all of it"
j - "Why not?"
v - "Too much sugar Jeevika"
j - "I'm a doctor, I think I know how much sugar is good for me"
v - "And you're also pregnant. You don't know what eating everything in moderation means either"
j - "Whatever" she said taking the plate from him.
Jeevika started devouring the strawberries with the nutella. She couldn't have been more happier at the moment and Viren couldn't stop laughing inside. He knew it was better to see her like this than all nervous and panicky like she was an hour ago at the doctors office.
j - "Viren see even the baby likes it. She's kicking"
v - "Really?" he said coming closer to her.
Viren put his hands on her stomach and felt the baby moving a lot. There was nothing more than that that could make him feel the happiest.
v - "I guess we're going to have a third chocoholic in this family now"
j - "Seems like it. I noticed this before too that she would start kicking when I ate chocolate"
Zaaine came walking down all changed from his school clothes. He came and sat next to Viren.
v - "Don't you want to eat?"
z - "No not hungry"
v - "You sure?"
z - "Yup"
v - "Let's go start our packing Jeevika"
j - "No not now"
v - "Come on. You've practically had half of this nutella jar. Don't eat more"
j - "Okay okay, but I don't want to pack right now. I'm really tired"
v - "Okay fine, I'll go finish mine and then we will do Zaaine's" he said getting up.
Viren went upstairs and packed everything he needed for this weekend from his formal attire for the party to shorts for the beach. After almost an hour we went downstairs only to catch the cutest sight ever. Zaaine and Jeevika were both fast asleep holding each other. Viren took a blanket and covered the two up. While the two took a nap, he decided to finish packing for Zaaine so Jeevika wouldn't have to do it later. Even after doing that he saw both of them asleep. It was almost 6 pm and he knew if he let them sleep any longer they would be up all night.
v - "Zaaine, Jeevika come on wake up"
j - "Five more minutes"
v - "No come on get up now. Zaaine go pack up all your toys and books you want to take with you fast"
Zaaine, unlike Jeevika, got up and rubbed his eyes listening to Viren.
z - "Daa I'm really sleepy"
v - "I know. Why don't you take a bath and pack your books"
z - "Okay, in two minutes though" he said holding onto Viren.
Viren picked him up and let him sleep on him for a few minutes. Jeevika also woke up and stood up.
j - "I'll go start packing"
v - "Go do yours, I finished it for Zaaine already"
j - "Okay" she said smiling.
The Next Morning...
v - "Jeevika come out of the bathroom already! Its almost time to go. Zaaine is already sitting in the car waiting for us"
j - "Cominggg!!!!" she said walking out
j - "Viren are you sure Zaaine will be okay without us this weekend? I mean we've never left him alone"
v - "Yeah but there's always a first! Anyways he has to start getting used to this now that another baby is coming. Plus Zoya's parents love him and she's also going to be with him tonight and she will meet us right at the reunion party tomorrow afternoon"
j - "Yeah but why can't we take him"
v - "Because there are going to be no kids there. Now will you get in the car?"
j - "Fine"
Even though Jeevika was scared to leave Zaaine alone, Zaaine was awfully excited knowing how much he was pampered by Zoya, Karan and her parents. It was still early morning and Zaaine had fallen asleep on the way to their home. Viren carried him inside and Karan showed him the room to put him in. After a few hugs, and Jeevika staring at her son numerable times, both of them left heading towards an exciting weekend!
