Geet, how about tomorrow.? Lets go for shopping tomorrow. We can ask Dadi too, I am sure she has been planning to go shopping with you since a long time but just hasn't got the time to tell you, since she is always so busy dealing with her uncontrollable grandson, Maan. Rohan suggested to which Geet just laughed. Daadi and Rohan's cute teasings were a treat to watch. Just as she was about to walk back to her room, she stopped in her tracks looking towards Maan's study door which had just opened. Maan and Nisha walked out of his study, still having a deep conversation. Maan spotted Geet standing a few steps away from them looking at them. For a second he thought he saw pain in her eyes. She quickly looked away when she saw him looking in her direction, watching her intently.

Rohan, you can discuss it with Daadi and let me know, tomorrow is okay for me. Geet smiled at him and walked away. Rohan watched her retreating figure and then towards Maan who stood with Nisha near the study. It didnt take him long to understand why her smile didnt reach her eyes and the reason for her sudden disappearence. Rohan threw a disgusted look at Nisha and walked towards his room.

Maan hesitated outside the room, wondering about Geet's reaction on seeing Nisha in the house again. Would she question him about her visit.? The question which bothered him the most was, was she hurt.? He never intended to hurt her but it had become necessary for him to know. It had been 2 weeks since they returned from Paris and Geet wouldnt talk to him, she obviously never lacked in fulfilling her duties, but it was limited to that. Deep down Maan regretted the loss of their new found friendship but he was too confused to realize it. The distance between them was giving him the much needed peace of mind, but in some corner of his heart it did bothered him too. Maan knew it was his mistake which led to all of it, he was the one who lost control the other day and blaming it on her was his way of concealing his weakness. His feelings for her were changing, something that was not in his control but hiding them was in his control, to which he desperately held onto. Opening the door, Mann spotted Geet furiously fixing her cupboard and blabbering to herself. A smile crept up his lips as he saw her mumbling to herself, it was adorable.

Geet.? Maan called out. He saw her stiffen and the clothes dropping from her hands. She turned to him and stood motionless. Trying to avoid his gaze, she picked up the fallen clothes and started putting them back together

Yes.?

Geet, I wanted to tell you that Nisha only came here to sign the papers. After what happened at the party, I called off the deal with her. It was only the paperwork that needed to be sorted out, it could have been done at the office but the papers werent ready. They were only sent to me today evening and I wanted to sort out everything as soon as soon as possible, that's why I called her here. I swear if I could have avoided it, I would have done that. Please dont let her effect you, she wont be bothering you anymore. Maan spoke breathlessly, leaving Geet stunned. She looked at him in surprise, Maan was justyfying himself to her, something that she could hardly have imagined. He looked at her ecpectantly, waiting for a reaction from her. She smiled at him and nodded. Embarrassed at his actions, Maan nodded and left the room in a hurry, hiding his flushed face. Geet looked at the closed door with a broad smile on her face and the happiness reflecting off her face. Maan had explained himself to her, he cared about what she felt. He didnt want her to be hurting herself thinking about Nisha. How much ever she tried, it was becoming difficult for her to stay away from him. Her heart ached to know him better, to feel his pain, share it and help him forget it. By now she knew there was something that was bothering him, she had seent the carefree side of Maan and she wanted to bring him back to life. With a hope of knowing him better one day, Geet got back to her work with the smile still adorning her lips.

The silence in the room and the house was broken by the sound of the shattering of the glass, followed by a loud scream for Maan. A shiver ran down her spine as she thought of Daadima and hurried out of the room. She hurried down the stairs and just as she reached the bottom of the stairs, the sight that awaited her disgusted her to no limits. Nisha held on to Maan's collar, while he tried to push her away. The sight hit Geet like a thousand needles, crushing her inside out. Dadimaa came running out of her room, followed by Rohan and both of them stood motionless at the sight.

Why Maan.? Why did you do this to me.? Nisha asked shaking Maan but he only stood turning his face away from her. Geet could make out that she was heavily drunk as she was hardly able to stand on her own feet, hadn't it been Maan's collar which she held on to, she would have fallen long back. Maan tried pushing her away but she didnt let him.

Because of her.? You did all this to me because of her right.? You left me with nothing Maan, why.? Is she really that important to you that you forgot me totally.? Tell me Maan.. She asked him once again, shaking him. Maan glared in her direction but she was no where to stop. Geet looked at them in shock, she was sure by now that they shared much more than any prefessional relationsip and she was prepared for the worst.

Nisha, let me go.! Enough of your nonsesne. You are drunk, go home.! Maan warned through his teeth trying to pry her hands off his collar.

Since when does me being drunk bother you Maan.? Isn't that what you loved about me.? When I was drunk.? You know how much I love you Maan...Nisha said still holding him close.. Geet felt disgusted standing there and looking at them. Maan pried her hands off his collar and pushed her away.

Love me.? You really think after all this you can fool me Nisha.? I already told you, what ever it was, it was over the day you betrayed me. If you dont get out of the house right now, you know what's going to happen. So before I call the security and get you thrown out of the house, leave.! You think I dont know you well enough Nisha, I know why you are doing all this.. only for money. All you care about is my money. If you ever cared about me, you wouldn't have sold yourself against me when I told you I was getting married and you wouldn't have dragged Geet into all this, what ever it was it was between the two of us, but you took this to a totally different level. I clearly told you the other day that it was over and I am moving on and I care less what you did with your life and I still stand by what I said. Just go now.. Maan warned her but she only smiled wider.

You have changed Maan, you have changed so much. There was time when you used to throw me on the bed and now you want to throw me out of the house.? Is it because of this bitch? Nisha screamed at him. Just as the words left her mouth, a hand flashed across her cheek and the sound echoed through the house. Maan stood with his hands balled into fists at his side and his eyes burning in rage. Maan held her by her arm and dragged her out the house. Shutting the door on her face, Maan turned around to find Daadimaa looking at him in anger. As he approached her to explain himself, she simply walked away from him leaving him stunned. Rohan quietly walked to his side and patted him on his back, assuring him. Geet stood on the stairs with the tears clouding her eyes, deep down she knew that Nisha was more than just a client to Maan, but never had she imagined that the truth would hurt her to such an extent. Why had he never told her about his past when she opened up her entrie past to him.? She felt cheated but at the same time, she felt a pang of pain in her heart realizing that may be she never was that important in his life to know about his past. The thought crushed her heart. A sob escaped her lips and Maan was quick to hear it. She saw his eyes shooting to her where she stood and his face went pale in guilt. The tears ran down her eyes and she quickly hurried up the stairs towards her room, trying to avoid the pain evident on her face.

Geet, wait. Listen to me. Maan called out to her but she was already running towards the room. Maan ran up the stairs behind her calling out to her. Just as she was about to run into the washroom, Maan held her by her hand and pulled her back. She wiped the tears off her face and faced him. Maan looked at her apologetically as he could clearly see the tears in her eyes, eventhough she had wiped them away. A tear rolled down her eyes and hiis hand immediately reached upto wipe it away.

Geet, I.. I ...am...sor...sorry. For whatever happened downstairs. I am sorry for hurting you all the time, always by my words or by my actions. Nisha is not a part of my life Geet...She was once a part of my past, which I have behind left long back but not anymore. Trust me. Maan said holding her hands in his.

I didnt ask you anything Maan, then why are you telling me all this today.? Geet asked looking striaight into his eyes. Maan looked shocked at her sudden quiestion. What was he supposed to tell her, that her tears were bothering him and he wanted her to know everything.?

I didnt ask you anything in the evening either, still you preferred justyfying yoursef to me. If you feel you have to justify yourself to me out of compulsion, please dont bother. I am totally fine the way I am. I know I dont hold a lot of importance in your life to know about you or your past, so I dont want you to give me that importance out of any compulsion. I told you about my past because I wanted to, not because I feel I am compelled to tell you because of you being my husband. You wont have any interference from me, so please dont stress yourself. Geet snapped with anger quite evident in her face. His face changed as soon as she uttered the words. His hands moved to the top of her shoulders, holding her tightly.

Geet, stop it. I know I did the wrong thing by hiding my past from you but belive me, it wasn't important enough to even cross your mind. What makes you think you aren't imporant in my life.? You are more important than anyone else..Dont say such stuff again.. Maan said earnestly looking into her eyes. Geet felt the tears clouding her eyes again, it was the first time he ever expressed himself but there were a lot more things running in her mind. His coldness towards her, his regret when he came close to her and his pent up frustrations. Geet's mind was clouded with Nisha's words to even realize that Maan was slowly opening up to her.

Why do you hate me so much.? Is it because, that I came between the two of you. Because of me you had to move on from Nisha.? Is that why you were angry on yourself the day you came close to me because even if you try hiding it, you still want her.? You still love her Maan... Geet said looking straight into his eyes again. She felt Maan stiffen the moment the words left her lips. Maan pinned her to the wall and looked down into her deep eyes. He could see the pain in her eyes while she said the words, but why was she hurting herself for him.?

Geet, stop it please.! I dont love her, I never loved her. That's why it never hurt me when she betrayed me, but now when you are in pain, its hurting me.! Maan snapped, his fingers digging into the skin in her shoulder. Geet winced but didnt take her eyes off his face, still looking at him straight into his eyes.

That's not you, its your anger that she betrayed you. I wont force you into anything Maan, you are free to break this marriage or leave me if you wish to go back to Nisha, its better that only one suffers than both of us suffering. Geet said, still somewhere seething in anger and hurt from the revealtion and tried prying his hands off. What bothered her was, why was all this hurting her so much.? In her anger and pain she failed to realize what she was talking, all she could think of was, Nisha's words. Maan insides burned hearing her words. The thought of breaking his marriage with Geet because of Nisha set him off the edge, and the words coming from Geet were even more haunting. He could feel the pain in her voice in every word she spoke. For the first time, he could clearly see the love twinkling in her eyes, love for him. It was this love for him that was making her say all this, reflecting the amount of pain pented up in her heart. He couldnt bear to the see the pain in her eyes. Without thinking twice, Maan pulled her closer by her waist and touched his lips on hers. Geet stood motionless as Maan pressed his lips hardly on hers, shutting her up. She could feel his anger in the kiss as he harshly pinned her to the wall but his lips didnt leave hers. He was in another world the moment his lips touched hers, even though he kissed her to shut her up but the feel of her lips was a something smoldering. He felt her trying to catch her breath and it suddenly hit him what he was doing. Maan broke the kiss and stepped away from her, drenched in guilt.

I am sorry Geet. For everything. Maan apologized and quietly walked out of the room leaving a stunned Geet, panting for air. She stared at the closed door, just where he had disappeared and the blood rushed to her cheeks. Realization hit her; she was in love with him. It was why eveyrthing about him effected her, be it his coldness, his smile, his closeness and most importantly; him. Geet sank to the ground, reeling the new found feeling and the feel of his closeness. Deep down her heart told her, that he felt no different as a result of which her words angered him to such an extent. Even though the revelation about his past did bother her, but knowing why it did give her some peace. On the other hand, Maan sat in the study with his head in his hands. How much he wished he could change her feelings for him. Could he bear to see her in pain if she learnt more about his past.? Did he have in himself to reveal his past to her without breaking her.? No matter how much he tried, staying away from him bothered him and deep down he realized she meant a lot to him but he didnt want to convince himself of his growing feelings for her. He did care about her, more than himself, more than anything else but was too afraid of admitting his feelings for her. Today when he could clearly see the love in her eyes, a thought bothered him, what if she saw through him.? A part of him told him that she saw through him when he kissed her. Would he able to ressit himself from telling her the truth if she confronted him.? It would be the end which he wasn't sure if either of them would be able to bear.
