11Apr14 - Random Observations

So ignoring Aditi part, I will comment on the parts that I did like.

Considering that the logic has taken a back seat ever since Aditi was given prominence in the show, Astha's part was not too bad. She did follow Aditi, but was not reckless enough to do everything on her own. After seeing Shlok's picture, she called him to come to the abandoned house. He of course goes through his denial and acceptance (of Astha) phases several times a day. So since he was in the phase where he decided that picking up Astha's phone would imply giving her a lot of importance, he did not take her calls. So Astha of course marched into his office and dragged him to the ghost site. I liked this part that Shlok despite his doubts came at Astha's insistence. After that he promptly lost his brains and so nothing much to add.

Then once at home, Astha was thinking that she was not insistent enough. Well, she was but CVs have taken away Shlokie's brains. So what can anybody do? She did go back to that site, but it was only after Aditi sent her a text from Shlokie's phone. So though everyone was made dumb, at least Astha was spared somewhat.

I liked Anjali and Astha scene though the reason to show the scene was to give Shlokie clues tomorrow through that bindi that got stuck on Aditi's dupatta and because Anjali knew that Astha had gone out because of Shlok sending out the message to her. But I still liked the interaction of Anjali and Astha. Anjali as usual scolded Astha for breaking house rules of going out without informing anybody. But then she softened when Astha explained that she was in hurry because Shlok had messaged her to come for some urgent work. She did put a bindi on her that is meant for married women. So she is entrusting Astha to take care of baby bear. So there is now acceptance on Anjali's part about Astha's place in Shlok's life. Anjali in her own stern way is becoming like a mother figure for Astha now.

Shlok's feelings for Astha are now coming out. First he was telling her that she had become so blind in his love that she is seeing him everywhere. There was not an irritation at her accusing Aditi of something again. He was more pleased that she was seeing him everywhere. Baby bear does like these daily love declarations and demonstrations of Astha though he himself does not like to express his emotions. Then when he looked at her old file, he got reminded of that first interview and kept that photo as an indulgence though he hid it from the worker. Then he was smiling when he was telling Astha's photo that she was not that bad. That was Shlokie's unique way of confessing that he liked Astha.

The final family scene was nice. Niranjan as usual likes to be surrounded by the family and he particularly wants the wife and DILs to be there as his traditional thought is that women belong in household looking after the guys. Astha of course is breaking all these traditions in her own way. So he asked for her and Shlok walked in just when Anjali was explaining to him that Astha had gone out with Shlokie. Shlok became concerned about and then instantly defended her when Anjali complained about Astha going to her mother's place after telling a lie. Anjali is very jealous of Kalindi and Astha's relationship as she herself is not able to do what Kalindi does openly. So it is not only because of NIranjan that she does not like Astha to go to Kalindi's place. It is also her own jealousy.

The difference today was that Shlok instead of getting mad at Astha (for breaking Baba's rules) actually defended Astha and told the household that Astha's lies were only to help somebody. This is true as she said a white lie to make Anjali break her fast. So Shlokie whose differences with Astha had started because of her lies, is now differentiating between white lies and malicious lies. That is quite a progression.

The best part in the scene was everyone's reaction. Sojal of course was jealous with good reason as Varad never stands up for her in front of Anjali. Varad was smiling because his fantasy of an ideal love is coming true as he can see that Shlok is now going to the extent of defending Astha. Of course he does not look at the mirror to realize that he himself has never once stood up for either Sojal or Kavya. The best was Niranjan's reaction who was shocked at baccha defending the bahu. So despite all his manipulations, baccha's emotions are getting involved. I want to see Niranjan in more active role after this artificial track of Aditi is over.

Then the last part was also nice when everyone realized that Astha is missing. All were worried for AStha including Sojal. I liked this depiction of Sojal where she has her petty issues with Astha, but she also is not malicious enough to want to see bad happening to Astha.

Sid is now getting emotionally involved with Jyoti and her unborn daughter. So the carefree guy is now worrying like a family man where he decided that Jyoti needed somebody to be there for her because he being a journalist works irregular hours. So he has some aunt whom he wants to take care of Jyoti in his absence. So Jyoti is now getting a polar opposite of Abhay and his aunt Sulbha. She is getting Sid and his caring aunt. So this is in parallel of how Kalindi got Avdhoot and Ajju. History repeating itself?

Least said the better. Since this kind of ending was evident from how the track was progressing in last few days, I am not surprised. Shlok will get some brains back tomorrow or by Monday - Anjali's bindi on Aditi's dress, text message by dumb psycho from his phone and his familiarity with the location of that abandoned house. But...I still fail to understand why CVs cannot ever write an important track properly. Swati was an invisible character from the beginning and her back story was linked not only to Shlok's behavior but also to Niranjan and Anjali. Now along with shrewd Shlok, manipulative Niranjan and intelligent Anjali have been brought down all because they want to keep a psycho character. So the best we can hope at the moment is that this Aditi track gets over and CVs bring back the standard.

When I was making my last VM, I had to see a lot of episodes to figure out the scenes I wanted. There was such a difference in quality of those episodes and post Aditi's episodes. Parts of episodes or some episodes have been nice, but the script has been a big let down. In any case I have no interest in analyzing an illogical, boring character like Aditi whose scenes I fast forwarded a lot.

The contrast between the speed of light with which ashta reached the office of her pati dev to drag him with her o that pest's fav place.. and the lateness of the sms shlokie received from ashta "ok".. it was funny how they showed it..like they wanted to rush things just the way shlokie rushed aditi when she entered his office...poor man he looks so scared of her.. like she is some monster ready to bounce on him.. i so wished he used his brains and go beyond the weirdness of aditi's visit..

I liked shlokie's scene with ashtas photo. i am wondering what was he refering to when he said ashta isnt that bad..was he talking abt her personality or her looks? what attracts him to her more ,is it her spunky nature, cute clumsiness( in the flashbacks) or her beauty ( caressing the pic)?

Waterver is the reason.. he actually likes her.. she makes him smile.. so why is he trying always to put a wall in between themselves? why so afraid? can he live for a lifetime with the fear she will betray him like others did( swati, anjali)? well. he panics when he is on the verge of losing her.. first at the divorce hearing he was silent and thoughtfull now when she disapeared he feared once again..his eyes looked vulnerable and lost.. very similar to what his mother looked lke today also.. both refused to admit it.. but they care for her and love ashta alot..

Speaking abt anjali, her scene with ashta is very interesting.. she puts on her forehead a bindi ( i guess its called like that) saying since shes a married woman she should look like one.. oho, this woman is as moody as her son..first she gives her the silent treatment and now shes all protective abt her..

Abt the bindi she gave ashta.. it ended on adti's dress.. cvs better use it smartly, or else why show it so many times.. hopefully anjali will be the one recognising it..

Neeranjans reactions were kinda hazy for me..he looked like he is still scanning things before making an opinion..

I liked shlokie's worried state.. he kinda desrves it..he wont realise her worth till smth shakes him badly..

But really great songs for chunnu munnu who have now done hatrick in ruining tracks by bringing a psycho character. My sumpathy to original writers/screen writers of the show who probably anticipated a complex Swati track.

Aneena, Wow, you want Sid to be Astha's cousin. Well, I can buy that..Jyoti does deserve an aunt in law like Kalindi. Not only cold momma, but even hot daddy would be going after hot momma. Hot daddy already have hots for hot momma. This would be a cherry on the cake. Poor Avdhoot...he would be caught in the middle. Well, he can always take work trips or go to some pilgrimage with Ajju. But Avdhoot can be Sid's uncle as Sid is very much like Avdhoot.

Thank you Angie,... This whole Jyothi track would become so interesting if Kalindi is Sid's kaki...I can imagine Hot Daddy's state...if Anjali does not follow his orders inorder to help/support Jyothi... This should be one track where Anjali should turn against NA to support Jyothi...otherwise there is no redemption for Anjali as a mother to a daughter...

Now time for CVs to tap Sid - Jyoti relationship.

Better sense prevailed and Aastha decided to involve her Watson(Shlockie) in her detective activities. Shlockie does not seem to have a problem with Aastha suspecting Aditi , maybe because he has issues with her himself? Or is it because Aastha's issues with Aditi revolve around him and hence quite enjoys it?😕 Given he is in his dumb phase now it can hardly be because he suspects the psycho himself.😆 I faintly hope it's because he has some misgivings himself because he accompanied Aastha . Now why would Shlockie of all the people do it unless he believes there may be something to it after all , even later when it was discovered Aastha is missing he emphasizes that Aastha does not lie unless its to save or help someone. But if he did have his suspicions why would he not act on it? Baba's izzat?😕 Is that why he has relegated himself to the defensive protector mode?😕

Shlockie did not seem too pleased to see Aditi in his office and did engage in a mild interrogation of sorts.😕 Now what exactly is wrong with the script writers , wouldn't any criminal or psychopath have sat down finished that cup of cold coffee , indulged in small talk and then made a move so as to ensure that no one suspects them? And even then if Shlockie suspected something amiss with her visit , would it have been considered impossible? No , in fact that would have seemed lot more logical than what was shown.

So why would Anjali put a bindi on Aastha's head. Like Anjali said traditionally bindi has been associated with marriage , so was that gesture of Anjali's to indicate that in the coming future it's perhaps Anjali who will assist Aastha in maintaining or keeping her marriage safe? Also Traditionally Bindi has been known as the third -eye , the strategic position is termed as the seat of concealed wisdom? So is Anjali asking Aastha to keep her wits about her both now and in the future that the now is going to bring?😕 Or it could simply be Anajli assuming a motherly role in Aastha's life. But I feel the scene had more to do than simply provide clues later on. Because honestly it's kinda inexplicable how the bindi gets itself transferred to Aditi's shawl😉😆😆 Would a trinket from her bangle perhaps been more feasible? Those things would have happily clung on to a fabric like that.

By the way why does Aastha -Shlockie get to do outdoor mangal while Varad -Sojal are forced to indoor mangal?😡😡

Now Baba doesn't like it when his favourite bahu is out of his sight . Shlockie should someday wonder about his Baba's obsession with Aastha😡 When you have a cute little grandchild why would any sane grand dad ask about his Bahu first?😕😕 But hot daddy was mighty pleased to know Aastha is with Shlockie. What does he think , that both are busy making grandchildren in the store room?😕 Gandi Baat Baba! Well I would have said maybe Baba is involved but by now I am pretty sure he isn't. Script writers want Aditi to be the most powerful and smartest witch in the universe that they even sidelined Baba!😡😡

So when crisis hits it's Anjali and sons that act? Baba only thinks and poses (well pretty well I must add😳)?😕 Anjali is worried that Aastha went to her Mother's , poor old SaasuBhai is so jealous of Kalindi. 😆😆 I liked this scene because Shlockie stood up for Aastha publicly , her image always mattered to him but so far he only reprimanded her in their bedroom . But , today Shlockie announced to the Agni's Baba's new competitor!😆😆😆 By the way hot daddy wasn't too pleased.😉

Aww Varad is so happy to see that his brother is the man he could never aspire to be!😡😡 Sojal deserves better😡 Poor thing , though she has her silly issues with Aastha , she was genuinely concerned for her.

Hmmm so Shlockie is slowly letting his defenses fall most importantly with respect to himself😉 He openly tells Aastha that since she is crazy about him , she only sees him everywhere. Pompous old goat but a cute one all the same!😆😆 He didn't get his daily quota of 'I love you ' from Aastha even though he tried hard in the morning!😆😆 Even when he flicks the photo he refers to it as "Mrs Aastha Shlock Agnihotri' , man he is so full of himself😆😆 (Well that's Shlock Agnihotri for you😉)but like once Aastha said irrespective of whether its Kirloskar or Agnihotri 'Aastha' comes first!😉 But I quite liked how he kept the photo with him , Shlockie is the sort to collect memories (remember his study😕) and it's cute how after making Aastha burn his last memory of Swati (diary) he is now collecting one of Aastha for himself😉

In another place someone else has appointed himself as a protector for Jyothi and her kid but thankfully not the defensive sort. He faced the issues head on and found a solution too. His 'Kaki' 😉 Now wonder who this Kaki will turn out to be!😕
