| The third installment of Spiderman is ringing cash registers across the global box-office but this time it also has an additional territory which was earlier alien to Hollywood flicks. Dubbing an English film in Hindi and south Indian languages is a common practice but in a first of its kind attempt, Spiderman 3 has been dubbed even in the Bhojpuri language and the film is doing wonders in the north eastern belt. And who has dubbed for Spiderman in the Bhojpuri version? Can there be a better choice than Ravi Kishan? Says the Bhojpuri superstar, "Percept Picture Company who were handling the dubbing of Spiderman 3 approached me. I liked the idea and we worked on it. I spend 12 nights to read Spiderman before I watched it. After 14 days I dubbed for it. You can see the result is very beautiful. You will feel the film was actually made in Bhojpuri. I accepted this offer for two reasons - one for my creative satisfaction and second to give a new direction to the Bhojpuri film industry. It's a big achievement for Bhojpuri Cinema." But has he ever dubbed for any other film or actor before? "No, I haven't dubbed for any other actor before", replies Ravi "But with the success of Spiderman 3, I now want to lend my voice for Superman and Harry Potter also. Did he take any kind of voice training? "Voice modulation is really important while dubbing and I had taken voice training lessons during my struggling period. This Bhojpuri Spiderman is created by me through my voice. I have made Spiderman's character more passionate. When he is in office he is very soft spoken, while romancing there is lot of passion in his voice and wherever his black character comes forth, I have moulded my voice accordingly. He sounds weird sometimes because he has two roles in the film. Apart from that you will see a lot of Bhojpuri touch to his character. When he asks his girlfriend to meet him in farm, he says, "Kabhi hamra khet khailian ma miliya tohra ke bahut pyar karat"
His fascination towards Spiderman doesn't end with the dubbing of this film. The actor was so inspired by the character that he now plans to make a film on the same in Bhojpuri. Ravi reveals, "While dubbing for this film I thought why can't I make film a like this in Bhojpuri. I have a talented team of young technicians with me in this Bhojpuri industry who could work on the special effects. So now I am making a film called Bajarangi. The main protagonist of the film will be a handicap but with the blessings of Lord Hanuman he will fly like a Spiderman." - haha the idea of spiderman flying in a dhoti hahaha |
