But the end never justifies the means and hence "Just Desserts". Rudra though a decent person - made some choices and badly thought out decisions based on his base nature - in anger and without much thought. He is facing the consequences of his choices/actions now - just as Paro is facing the consequences of her choices/actions.

I've said this before and will say it again. Both are equallly culpable and equally flawed. Thats the beauty of RR for me. Its 2 imperfect people coming together and hopefully complementing each other to make a perfect pair.

This post is a splendid corollary to your original!

Yes it is true.

In the real world though, if Paro had been a suspect, she would have received inhuman treatment... Beating, torture, possibly rape in prison.

I am still a little confused... Suspect or witness? Perhaps, a hostile witness? šŸ˜•

But why do we assume the worst in the real world?
Should we not have better expectations?
What happened to innocent until proven guilty - are not BSD officers taught that?
Rudra knows the village girls are probably sold off in the other country. He could have given Paro the benefit of doubt? As a high ranked Major - he could have taken time to think things through - and cover every angle of the situation.
He protected her ably and by the same token also made the situation highly personal.
He got the medal for his bravery and now he is reaping the punishment for his rash actions.
I'd like Rudra and Paro to step back and realize - both of their actions brought them into this hate marriage and reconcile to it - rather than play a blame game. But I suspect that level of maturity and understanding is going to take time. Meanwhile - I'm all ready to sit back and enjoy the love hate scenes coming our way!!😃

Sooo agree with all the points you made. From day one, well that is exaggeration, but from when he got Paro none of his acts were justifiable for a BSD major. I am sooo happy he is suspended. All the more coz we don't get to hear majorsaab from Paro. But I would love to see if he would ever man up to accept his mistakes.

I would still wait for Paro's reaction... but I have to say this..
Rudra made a public spectacle of himself and Paro in the jhaanki... she did exactly the same in her confession , he coerced her into marriage , she asked for marriage in innocence... unfortunately he tars her with the brush of his intentions which were not right ... ie... he was selfish... she isn't ... now her innocent actions have come back to hit him... where it hurts...

You r right. Rudra's suspension was long due. No matter how much patriotism he showed on the field,it can't be denied that it was reckless and could have been avoided. Had the bsd known the full story of how he intimidated paro,he would surely have been court-marshaled.
Having said that,I still feel awful for him, specially after seeing the child in him😭 It pains me to see how even things done with the best intentions end up ruining everything. Also I hate this honour-stripping act by the forces, having gone throught the agony of watching it being done to an innocent man in another show šŸ˜”
