In 1997, Dharmendra won a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema over many years. While receiving the award from Dilip Kumar and his wife, Dharmendra grew emotional and remarked that he never received any Filmfare award in the "Best Actor" category despite having worked in so many successful films -- nearly a hundred popular movies. He was glad that his contributions had finally been recognized.

The nikahnama of his marriage to Hema Malini says that he is Delawar Khan being united to Ayesha Bi. They are said to have fallen in love on the sets of Sholay (1975) although they have made many films together before and after Sholay.

Amitabh Bachchan has won fourteen Filmfare Awards in various categories. The most recent award was the 2005 Filmfare Best Actor Award for his role in the film Black. He has been nominated as Filmfare Best Actor twenty-eight times (a record) and as Filmfare Best Supporting Actor nine times (also a record). He has also been nominated three times as Filmfare Best Playback singer. Amitabh Bachchan made his film debut in 1969 as one of the seven protagonists in Saat Hindustani. The movie was not a financial success, but Bachchan won his first National Film Award.

personally... i think that the real superhero is dharmendra... he has given this industry the most hits... yet he never got appreciated for them...

dharmendra!! i love his husky voice & his hilarious potrayal as veeru in 'sholay' won me over totally.👏👏👏

without a shred of doubt Jai for me...Big B rocked that role...It was a very reserved role which very few ppl cud have enacted impressively. HE potrayed a man with a secret longing for a widow so effectively never going overborad.👏

I dont like Dharmendra much except offcourse in Chupke Chupke...He rocked there...He had a bigger role in Sholay but just a conventional one nothing special...
