@Misti, I went back to watch that scene with Niranjan and Shlok. You are right. He did look stern when he looked at Astha, but then started smiling when Shlok looked at him. And I think I understand why he gave the jewelry to Aditi. I interpreted it as challenging Astha that Aditi is taking her place and for Astha to stay back. But it was actually the opposite. Astha did think that decision to leave Shlok was right when he was not believing her. She had a monologue about that part. By giving the jewelry to Aditi, Niranjan expected Astha's resolve to leave Shlok to become even more stronger, because now even the family is giving importance to a person whom she had accused of so many things. Hopefully, it would be made more clear about Niranjan.
@Chithra, I too thought that Niranjan wanted Astha to stay because of what he heard from Varad/Vinayak. But your theory is interesting. That he finds Astha a challenge and now wants to prove himself right that he can also mold a girl like Astha. He did tell Anjali that different treatments have to be used for different people based on their weaknesses. So is planning to use Astha's weakness for Shlok to subdue her?
