Well message part is a mixed bag in my opinion. Some good, some not so good and very few bad messages. Even if they advertise that the serial is against bal-vivah - 'hamari taraf se ek chhota sa prayaas', still this is a commercial venture and we have to give them some leeway because they have to placate (some) viewers who may be conservative/patriarchal. A few examples are:
Good messages: Even at the start of the serial, there was a sane voice against bal-vivah (teacherjee).
Bhairo - Sumitra were not against bal-vivah, still they wanted to save their daughter and daughter-in-law from underage motherhood.
A person can change his/her thinking even at ripe old age.
Not-so-good: Premonitions like Sumitra (for Anandi) and Anandi (for haveli people) - I have mentioned it here because though this was like promoting superstitions, it was added perhaps for dramatic effect.
Suffering of widows even after remarriage - they could have avoided it atleast not to repeat it for both Phooli and Sugna (Asha was exception, but we did not see much of Asha after her marriage).
Too many useless rituals (especially after Anandi-Shiv marriage) and khichadi of relationship.
Bad messages: Girl's education is not important, elders can stop girls from studying.
Marriage is essential for happiness of each and every person (in marriageable age-group). It is the duty of well-wishers to counsel and even force a person to marry notwithstanding his/her preparedness for marriage.
Getting bail means end of a court case.
Village girls are good and city girls are bad (this is the rule, very few exceptions in this serial). Once a city girl is redeemed, she starts behaving like village girl.
A good bahu will treat her in-laws like God. She should stop her education, take risk of her own life to fulfill the wish of a parpota etc.
Generally, most of educational, professional tracks were misleading - no research done.
The lists can be long - here are just a few examples of what I think.
