Do Movie Trailers Reveal Too Much?

Does anyone else find this as well? or is it just me? There are certain movies where literally everything is already out and you can figure everything out even before the movie comes out, it can be frustrating because there is really nothing to look forward to.

Off the top of my head...I think both Dhoom 2 and 3 revealed too much for me...whereas I think Kahaani and Talash were the best trailers in the sense that the suspense factor was still existent even after watching the trailers.

Kahaani trailers were the best. Didn't reveal anything yet we knew what the basic plot and the genre is.

I didn't like Ek Villian teaser, the teaser gave away too much and the trailer is yet to come.

Kahaani was a perfect product from start to finish. It's as if all the stars in the Universe aligned in perfect harmony. My favorite movie in the last few years. 😊

Agreed, Kahani was perfect, not too much was said about it. All we knew is that she was looking for a missing husband.

But, in other movies I find myself saying "seen it, seen it, seen it", because its ALL IN THE TRAILER!!

I think that's why movies like Bewafookian fail, they showed everything in the trailer...boy and girl love each other, he loses his job, and his father has a problem with it, and they have to lie to overcome...Why SO many details? There needs to be some level of secrecy and surprise element.

LOL I felt that with Ricky Bahl, the whole movie was in the trailer.

Yes! Another good example, and I think a lot of the movies that do this COULD actually be a hit, but they screw it up by revealing too much, if you already know the whole story whats the point of going to the theatre lol
