Deepika Padukone chooses Bajirao Mastani over Shuddhi

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project 'Bajirao Mastani', a historical love story that has been close to Sanjay's heart for the past 10 years, has finally found its Bajirao and Mastani. The hit jodi and real life couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will play Bajirao and Mastani, respectively. Both Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have announced their films 'Shuddhi' and 'Bajirao Mastani', respectively for a December 2015 release. We have heard that both are great scripts, which require a fair amount of time from its actors for shooting and marketing and thus, Deepika needed to make her choice between the two.

Deepika had earlier been confirmed for Shuddhi but we guess that her love for Sanjay Leela Bhansali as a director and the time she would get to spend with Ranveer may be amongst the reasons for making this difficult choice. While Deepika and Sanjay remained unavailable for comment, we can safely say that the cast of Bajirao Mastani is a first grand step by Sanjay towards achieving his dream.

We knew it , lets see now how karan gets back at deepika. Slb forcably made deepika to leave shuddhi.

We should rename this forum the Deepika Padukone, Bajirao Mastani, and Shuddhi forum since nobody else or nothing else exists.

lol no he didn't, deepika has been in talks with slb for BM for a very long time. Even in the first reports about the movie we heard deepika was the number one choice.

We never got an article about deepika opting out of BM, even when we heard she was confirmed for shuddhi she was still in the running for the role of mastani.

But again this is not 100% confirmed, as the article is saying deepika and slb did not comment about the matter.

If she had given her nod to Shuddhi and now is backing out of it because of Bajirao then KJO is gonna be pissed off.

I won't believe anything until KJO or SLB or deepika confirms it by themselve. TOI reported before that she's doing shuddhi and now she's confirm for BM. Anyways
