| Yash Raj Films is on a roll! Siddharth Raj Anand's directorial debut SALAAM | NAMASTE opened last Friday and not even a week later, the premier production house has started their new venture, FANAAH, directed by Kunal Kohli. FANAAH, which teams Aamir Khan and Kajol for the first time [they were cast in ISHQ earlier, but not paired opposite each other], takes off on Wednesday, September 14 with a 2-day shooting at Yash Raj's new studio at Andheri. "Kajol, Rishi Kapoor and Kiron Kher are participating in this schedule," director Kunal Kohli informs me, "It's a warming up exercise, before we get headlong into the shooting." Isn't Aamir participating in this stint? "No, but he's visiting us on the sets. We are all having lunch together," Kunal smiles. Rumors are rife that FANAAH bears a striking similarity to the recent release YAHAAN. True? "False! I'd like to clear this once and for all… FANAAH bears no similarity to YAHAAN or any film whatsoever. A part of FANAAH is to be filmed in Kashmir, but a major chunk is to be shot in Delhi. Besides, the storyline is not the same at all," he gets serious. The clarification should put an end to all rumors! |
