Sure, she dresses well, but her style is hardly original.

I prefer Kangna's dressing sense by far.

I don't know how to insert pictures, but there is this absolutely cute picture of her and Dhanush during the Ranjhaana promotions in Chennai. He is dressed in a traditional silk dhoti and white shirt. Sonam is dressed in a very simple what looks like traditional silk saree, not designer. She has her hair up in a bun, flowers around it and jhumkas. Looked very south Indian elegant, not just elegant. I immediately thought looks like a reverse RL 2 states couple. 😆

Her rival of the moment DP did the same flowers in the hair, hair up, saree thing for Kochadaiyaan promo in Chennai, but she looked elegant in a saree, perhaps modern South Indian elegance, not traditional South Indian elegance. Contrasts were interesting.

She dresses very well most of the times, but the clothes she wears only seem to suit her.

A Fashion Icon is someone whose style is and can be copied by the masses too. In that way, I don't think Sonam is a fasion icon. But on a stand-alone basis, she does dress pretty well most of the times, as in she looks very well-coordinated and confident in whatever she carries on herself.

A lot of the Sari's that Sonam wears are from Masaba Gupta and Anamika Khanna.

I like Kangna's fashion sense too...she is edgy and experimental!

Well, she has definitely helped designers like Masaba Gupta, Anamika Khanna, Shehla Khan become famous/become much more famous than they were otherwise. Her stylist Tanya's name became popular too in between.
