Paro is all gold and 24carat , mind you.
Rudra has only seen brass in the name of inner and outer beauty, so he dismisses his heart's call and insists that she is only glitter - not gold.
Today's episode highlights two things clearly:
1. Rudra's frustration is hitting new levels. He is in love with Paro, he is fatally attracted to her. And Paro's surrender to him and those bambi eyes are driving him insane. It has come to a point that Rudra could actually be hospitalized at this level of hypertension. His whole existence demands Paro and he is fighting a war to negate it. In short, you can say that the boy has totally lost it.He is TERRIFIED and that increases his levels of new creative verbal nonsense.
2. Paro is clear in her mind and heart. She pampers and spoils Rudra but she STICKS to what she wants. She is ready to hide her face if Rudra doesn't want to see her , but that in no way means that she will leave him or take his nonsense lying down. Watch her face when she tells Rudra that he cannot differentiate between love and seduction because he has never felt the love of a woman.
Hmm. Rudra and Paro are the stuff that intense tales of undying love juxtaposed against fallacies of human nature are made of. Disturbing, riveting , and yes, they leave you totally spell-bound.
Rudra is a Janus-face as of now. The past face that makes him categorize Paro's beauty as sinful, seducing , cruel and a mirage that veils possible evil. The future face that makes him stick to Paro like glue - hold her hand rightfully and possessively even when he is talking about throwing her out, that makes him want to break every single bone in Sumer's body for daring to touch Paro, that makes him stand speechless when Paro echoes the voice in his heart.
The horrible things that Rudra tells Paro - raising a finger on her character ( due to the sexyback and hug encounter ) , slamming his childhood fear of beautiful women on her, voicing his fear that she will seduce him with her beauty and hurt him - all this verbal nonsense cannot hide his own desperation to fight the desire and feelings that he has for Paro. What he terms as ' teri nazdeeki ki ghutan' is actually the yearning of his whole being for Paro.
Even Rudra knows all this is nonsense. If it wasn't, he wouldn't have left Sumer alive just because Paro came in between and lowered his boiling point. If Paro was so characterless in his POV, he wouldn't have gone all the way to the kitchen , his eyes not scanning her bare skin and tied her dori and fitted her sleeve. That was HONOUR. He honours Paro but the past face of Janus doesn't allow him to accept these feelings, It only gives cement and strength to his anxiety that beauty is sinful and cruel.
Contrary to this, Paro is all virginal innocence and committed warmth. She has her confidence in Rudra. Its this confidence that made Paro come between Rudra and Sumer and control Rudra's temper. Its this confidence with which she finds her voice and tells Rudra that nothing is wrong with her character and that his hatred is misplaced. Its this confidence with which she tells Rudra that he is such a mess because he has never felt love.
Obviously, Rudra cannot take the truth when slammed into his face. After all his verbal nonsense goes into masaaladaani, he again begs her to leave him. I forgive every single thing - just go. And the way he counts all the wrongs she did unknowingly on his fingertips , you can see that till date he is rather hurt that Paro didn't trust him and left him. The pain is still fresh along with the khoobsoorat aurat syndrome.
Even this doesn't work because Rudra cannot move Paro's trust that she and him are soulmates , so he takes tips from IF members and tries to snap her back into the real world - we are not meant to be together , please spare me and yourself and live your own life. And what does it come to? Paro's smiling face which says that he can waste as much energy as he wants. Rudra is Paro's Rudra and that's all.
Rudra pulls his hair out once again, falls short of ramming his head into a wall, and gives punishment to Paro to stay outside and not come in - hoping that she will leave when her tendons pain and exhaust themselves.
So, darlings, following is the list of Rudra's desperate attempts:
1. Don't show me your face.
2. Don't seduce me with your khoobsoorti and mind your character.
3. I beg you to leave me , poori list maaf kartaa hoon.
4. Return from your fairytale and see the jallaad that I am. I am so not your soulmate.
5. Ughs! Ziddi girl. Class ke baahar khadee rahho and only come in when i call you.
And Paro countered all these attacks by just one thing - FAITH. Rudra was so desperate and almost ready to cry at a point because nothing that he does shakes Paro.
You know why? Coz Paro baby doll hai sone ki, aur Rudra ke saare darr hain peetal ke. SIMPLE.
Still, the following moments stood out for me:
1. Rudra pouncing at Sumer like a tiger and shielding Paro.
2. Kaaki Sa commenting that Rudra and Paro ki mohabbat ke kisse are still on ( the snide comment was on Rudra gripping Paro's hand even while trying to throw her out).
3. Rudra's and Paro's curtainwaali argument where Rudra called Paro characterless and she called him loveless.
All in all, a fantastic episode with Kaaki Sa playing cupid, Sumer escaping alive from Rudra thanks to Paro, Sunehri, Maithli and Paro coming on the same page.
Worry? Rudra is an all uphill task for Paro if today's episode is anything to go by. Seriously.
