Chapter 3

Recap - Destiny was playing its' card as Jodha's mother, Mainavati meets one of her friend Leela who talks about having the perfect groom prospect for Jodha at Sukanya's place whereas on the other side Jodha was dreaming of her Mr Stranger. Jodha wishes to meet Mr Stranger again but brushes that thought away thinking it wasn't possible but little did she know that her wish was to come true the next moment where he returns her the office pass she dropped at the very bus stop they first met.

Part A - Mr. Stranger Is Actually My...

Jodha's House

Jodha was watching her favourite television series when all of a sudden the lights went off . She took a candle from the drawer nearby and lit it up to check the fuse box . There was nothing wrong with the fuse box . Perhaps there's an electrical shortage She thought to herself . Seeing that it was almost 10.30 pm , Jodha decided to call it a night and went to her room to sleep .

Jodha lay down on her bed ready to retire for the day . As she closed her eyes images of Mr Stranger flashes through her mind . Jodha immediately opened her eyes shocked that she was thinking of him again . She tossed and turned a couple more times to see if sleep would eventually come to her but sleep was determine to not come that night and to add up to her frustration , thoughts of Mr Stranger just wasn't leaving her alone . Perhaps he was determine to haunt her dreams .

Finally giving up after many failed tries , Jodha got up from her bed and walk towards the window across her bed . It was pouring heavily outside , just like the day she first met him . Droplets of rain were flowing down the window . Jodha brought her index finger onto the window and slowly followed the trail that one of the rain droplets left .

As she was following the droplets , his face appeared on the window . She brought her finger to his face and caressed it asking " Who exactly are you ? Why is it not possible for me to forget your face ? " And his face disappears from there . Jodha went back to her bed and laid down staring at the ceiling confuse as to why she keeps thinking of Mr Stranger when he is just a stranger . And slowly she found sleep and slept peacefully dreaming about meeting Mr Stranger again .

Next day , JM Corp .

"Good morning Moti ." Jodha greeted Moti .

"Good morning Jodha ." Moti replied with a unusual excitement ..

"What is it Moti ? You sound unusually excited today . Did something good happen to you ?" Jodha asked .

"It hasn't happen yet but it's about to happen later ."

"What is going to happen later Moti ?"

"Jalalludin Muhammad is coming here today ! As a matter of fact he will be here from now on . " Moti replied .

"Jalalludin Muhammad ?! As in the legendary Jalalludin Muhammad ?! But I thought he is in the States ?"

"He was in the States Jodha . It seems that he has decided to come back to India and focus on this company ."

"Really ? But why all of sudden ?"

"The US branch JM Corp is in the top five most successful companies in the world all credits goes to Jalalludin Muhammad of course . He is well known for his shark-like instinct when it comes to business . And now that he is here in India , we are in for a big bonus this year ."

"Can't you think of anything else other than money Moti ?" Jodha laughed .

"Well you can't blame me can you . Everyone loves money even the legendary Jalalludin loves money . But one thing is for sure he is every girls dream come true or should I say Prince Charming ."

"What do you mean ?"

"What do I mean ? Hold on Jodha . Have you seen him before?" Moti asked .

"Who ? Jalalludin Muhammad ? Nope never met him in real life yet ."

"Duh even I never met him in real life . He was in States for 8 years remember ?! I meant do you read about him in the internet or magazines ?"

"No , never ."

"I knew it , you don't know anything about the 'gossip' world . "

"I , I guess I'm just not interested in the 'gossip' world ."

"Hold on I'll search for him in the internet ." Moti said and started tapping on her computer . She clicked on Google and typed Jalalludin Muhammad and selected a recent article on his return to India . "Well he got the looks and he's wealthy so any girl would be crazy about him I guess . But rumors says that he's a stone-hearted person though I don't know how true that is . Here's the recent article of his ." Moti continued .

"Okay , let's see just how good looking is the legendary Jalalludin Muhammad ." Jodha giggled when her eyes caught his picture printed on the article . She was gobsmacked for the legendary Jalalludin Muhammad was none other than the Mr. Stranger that she met two days back . What ?! Mr. Stranger is Jalalludin Muhammad ?! But that's ... No , it can't be ... But ... So , that's how he knew that I would get in trouble if I don't have my office pass with me yesterday .

"He's good looking right isn't he Jodha ." Moti brought Jodha out of her thought .

"Huh ? Oh yeah , yeah he is very good looking ." Jodha replied still a bit dazed . "Uhm , excuse me Moti . I need to use the washroom ."

"Yeah sure ."

Washroom

"I can't believe this . He is Jalalludin Muhammad ?!" She remembers their first meeting where she tightens the hold of her handbag fearing that the man will grab it from her . "No wonder he chuckled . Jodha that was so embarrassing I can't believe you did that ?! How am I going to face him now ? How I wish that the earth would just open up and swallow me in !"

Jodha washed her face and looked into the mirror telling herself "Why should you be afraid Jodha ? You didn't do anything wrong . You didn't know who he really was . Besides any other woman would have thought the same way you did ." She tried to assure herself that what she did was not wrong but still she was feeling bad for misunderstanding him .

"I should apologise . He must have felt insulted when he saw me holding my handbag tightly . Yeah I should apologise ." Jodha wiped her face and went out of the washroom . But how do I apologise ? Will he accept my apology ? Jodha was all lost with her thoughts when she heard someone call her name .

"Miss Sharma ." Came a familiar husky voice . Oh it was him alright , Jalalludin Muhammad . She turned around her eyes on the floor . She mustered her courage finally lifting her eyes to face him and straight away she regretted doing so .

There he was standing in front of her . Those mysterious dark brown eyes , that perfectly symmetrical nose , that intriguing narrow scar that sliced his left eyebrows that gives her the urge to caress it . He looked downright magnificent in a perfectly tailored black pinstripe business suit .

"Hi ." He said with a smile on his face . A smile that could make one's knees weak .

"H.. Hi Sir ." Jodha replied while he smirk .

I broke this chapter into 2 parts (Part A & Part B) mainly because I wanted it to be this way ... I intend on giving you Jalal's POV too so Part B is all about Jalal's POV

Part B - I Am Your Boss

As Jalal walked in the office the first thing his eyes went searching for was the sight of Jodha . His eyes were busy searching for her that he didn't even pay a heed to the manager who came out to welcome him . It was rude of him to ignore that manager but he was eager to see Jodha or rather to see Jodha's reaction when she finds out his identity . I guess I would have to make it up to the manager later Jalal told himself .

Then at last his eyes found Jodha , sitting at the far right-hand corner of the office . Jodha was busy talking to Moti ... They were of course talking about Jalal not that he will know about it but still watching her smile , her chatting freely was something new to him . She always seemed hesitant or rather caution when they're together .

Of course she will not speak to you this way Jalal you're practically a stranger to her ! (For now) How do you expect a lady to be friendly with a stranger and that too a stranger she only met twice . Give it some time man , you never know she might speak to you this way someday . His mind told him . Yeah you're right I should give it some time I guess .

"Welcome Sir . I am Atgah Khan , let me assist you to the meeting room . "

"Thank you ." He smile and followed Atgah to the meeting room .

As Jalal was on his way to the meeting room he took a final glance at Jodha and saw her facial expression changed into a rather shocked look after reading something in the computer . He wondered what made her so shocked but brushed that thought away telling himself that he should focus on work and not Jodha .

Meeting Room

"Sir these are the files for the company's profit since the last five years ." Atgah informed Jalal .

"Thank you ." He replied while taking one of the files and started going through it . As he was going through the files he found something odd . If the company has made so much profits from the past five years then where did all the money go ? Could it be that ... I'll have check on it personally He thought to himself .

"Sir would you like some beverages ?" A brunette manager asked Jalal .

"Yes please , coffee - strong , black with a cube of sugar ." He replied the manager whom he had ignore earlier with a smile .

The brunette manager blushed and frozed in her place . Jalal chuckled seeing her reaction , everytime he smiles the ladies just freezes . He looked at her name tag and called out her name "Miss Nisha ."

Nisha unfroze and replied with a slight flush of pink on her cheeks "Right away Sir ." And she left the meeting room to get Jalal his coffee .

Few minutes later Nisha came back with a tray of coffees . She poured the coffee into a teacup and added a cube of sugar in it and brought it to Jalal .

"Thank you Miss Nisha ." Jalal said this time without looking at her . A tinge of disappointment was clear on her face but she continued doing her work afraid that she will be reprimanded for not doing her job .

After the meeting was over , Jalal went on a stroll around the office . He looked towards Jodha's desk to see her but she was not there . Maybe she went somewhere He thought to himself and continued his stroll .

As he leisurely strode pass the office he heard a soothing chime of someone's payal . He searched for the direction of which the chime came from when he caught a glimpse of Jodha who just came out of the washroom .

With her back towards Jalal , Jodha does not realise that he was behind her following her every footsteps as she was lost in her thoughts . She tied her hair into a ponytail today . He had a strong urge to turn her around and take her full luscious lips but he fought that urge away and called out for her . "Miss Sharma ."

Jodha stood rooted to the ground when she heard him call her . She knows he thought while a smirk came just as naturally on his mouth . She turned around to face him but she kept her beautiful eyes trained on the floors . She was wearing a baby pink anarkali suit that hinted at her curves yet not quite revealing it .

Why is she keeping her head down ? Jalal thought . He was dying to see her face up close especially those expressive eyes of hers . He really loved her eyes . Eyes that always gives away her feelings . It was like looking into a clear river or something . Finally after what felt like a century for him she lifted her eyes up and looked at him .

He noticed how her beautiful eyes widened when she finally raised them to meet his . A flare of recognition and something else - Was it fear ? Is she afraid of me ? But why ? He was taken aback to see fear for him in her eyes . Was he really that scary or was she afraid of something else ? Did I do something wrong when we met ?

Should I talk to her or should I just leave from here He wondered . He did not want to frighten her any more than he had . He was unsure of himself , something he hated , something that made him weak and he does not like it when the situation is out of his control .

He decided that he will have to get the situation back in control . And he knew just what he had to do . "Hi ." He said to her with his oh so famous making- any-woman-weak-in-her-knees kind of smile .

Once again he noticed her eyes widened when he said 'Hi' to her . But this time there was no fear in her eyes , instead there was a tinge of - shyness ?

"H ... Hi Sir ." She had reply with a slight flush of pink on her cheeks whereas he smirk as he was back in control of the situation .
