Water babies: Samiksha, Shalini Kapoor and Malini Kapoor
Telly actresses Malini and Shalini Kapoor (real-life siblings) and Samiksha recently took off for a river rafting expedition to Hrishikesh in Uttaranchal.
Getting away
The threesome visited this scenic spot at the foothills of the Himalayas "to get away from the morn-to-night studio schedules.
We just wanted to get away from those lights and the make-up. We love to travel, so we decided to take the nature trail," chorus the trio.
Life is pink: Malini Kapoor
Malini is currently seen as Zeenat in the SaharaOne drama Zaara… Pyaar Ki Saugat while Samiksha plays the title role in Zaara. Shalini is seen as Iravati in Solhah Singarr, also on SaharaOne.
Along with a bunch of friends, they took off on April 26 and returned on May 2. "We flew to Delhi and from there we hit the road to Rishikesh.
The journey itself was an out-of-the-world experience," says Malini, who considers herself as an avid traveller and does not mind taking off every now and then to lesser-visited destinations.
Worth it
The river rafting experience and stay overnight in a tent on the banks of the river Ganga was a moment to cherish.
"It is a 24-kilometre route and though everyone was wearing life vests, we had our hearts in our mouth. We almost died!" says Malini, recalling her rafting experience.
"It was our first experience at river rafting, so we really did not know what to expect. There is water all around and the immense force of the flowing river just throws the raft around.
You are tossed and turned and you feel this is it. Now the raft will capsize and you will be gone. But all this is part of the adrenaline-rushing experience. It is worth every moment."

Unforgettable
Apart from soaking in the sights of the pristine beauty of the Himalayas, the trio chilled out completely.
"I did not sleep the entire night we stayed in the tent. It was a full-moon night and the entire place basked in its glory.
This is one picture that will remain in my memory forever: the clear waters, fresh air and the marvellous sights."
Totally rejuvenated after their Rishikesh trip, Malini and Samiksha headed for Chandigarh for a few more days. "Samikhsha has family there," points out Malini while Shalini made her way back to Mumbai.
The actresses are now recommending a rafting experience to one and all. "It is one bumpy holiday you will never forget."
And Malini, especially would not heading again to the foothills of the Himalayas to soak in the experience all over again.
