Vineet Raina
His passion for acting brought him to Mumbai from Jammu three years ago. With no contacts and no relatives, Vineet Raina had to struggle a lot for work. "I struggled for everything, for money, work and my survival here. I didn't even have enough money to pay for my portfolio pictures and got them done at a very low cost and then went for auditions," he recalls. He remained jobless for eight months after his debut show Mulk. "My real struggle started after doing Mulk. I didn't have money for food and went without dinner sometimes," he says. Though he did shows like Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahan, Maryada and Sati Satya Ki Kahani Vineet says he failed to come into the limelight.
What he was really looking for was a lead character in a big show. And that came his way when he got Maayka where he plays Veer Khurana, an IPS officer, who marries Raji Malhotra after a series of ups and downs. "The show started with our love story and since then it's been one happy journey for me. Veer is a nice and humble guy who is both serious and fun loving. It's an excellent role with a range of emotions to perform. I think patience pays and Maayka is the kind of show I was waiting to do," says Vineet.
