Mamta's dilemma thickens!!

Is Neha Mehta, the protagonist of Zee's Mamta finally quitting the show or not?
"I am considering, I have not really decided on moving out," says Neha.
To begin with her grievance was primarily the generation leap and how her character would shape up after that. But somehow now she refutes the claim and avers, "Yes, I am not comfortable with a generation leap but that's not the only problem. What I am worried about is whether I would be able to relate to the character that I am being asked to play. I don't want to jump into it blindly! I am not worried of playing a mother at 23, Sharmila Tagore did it in Aradhana; she was fairly young then," asserts Neha.

Nice analogy to begin with; however the creative interests aren't a problem area as far as our sources quote, "It's the money, Plain hard cash! And its not like a new thing to come from a lead, all of them throw a tantrum and threaten a walk out before a generation leap, its an old trick. But as far as the talks go, the actor and the production house will sit and strike a deal." Keep your ears open and you will hear the same soon!

However, Sheel Kumar of Shreya Creations tells us a different story regarding the leap. "The channel insisted on the leap, as the new track seems to be working well for them," he says.

So will there be many additions to the show?
"Yes, only the children though, we will keep the story intact. A new star-cast is pooled in, and we have recruited some new faces." And where have the audition grounds been, "Delhi, Pune, Bhopal are places where we have auditioned and incurred original talent; in fact we keep recruiting all the time," adds Sheel.

So finding new a face isn't a worry for the production house; has Neha been conveyed that? What are the 'real' problems brewing between her and the production house?
"We don't have concerns with her as an actor, Neha is regular and dedicated to the show in a time when most actors take up multiple shows, and she has dedicated all her time to Mamta: we really appreciate that. She has been considering this generational leap for a while and has to combat her own anxiety regarding it."

And what is Neha's decision?
"That you have to ask her, we have given her a great platform, and the leap will make the show far more exciting! Minimum 20 episodes will be dedicated to her in a mother -son relationship. However, if an actor wishes to work with us we welcome it and if they have tantrums to throw they can move on, we do not object to that: the show must go on!"

Is the crisis money? "No, it's not the case."

Even if the reply is in a curt negative we have a confirmation that the lady has signed in for a meaty role in a blockbuster down south. Neha confirms, "If I decide to quit, then I will take couple of months off, and yes, there's a film I am keen on down south but I can't talk about it as I have been asked not to."
