Ranveer Singh Hits the Spot With His New Brand Endorsement

Despite having several big films to his name, Ranveer Singh has always declined the brand endorsement offers that have come his way. However, the actor has finally decided to give the go-ahead to one brand and sign on the dotted line - or, as he terms it, "pop his cherry." This particular phrase is quite apt since Ranveer has agreed to be the face of condom brand Durex. Now how's that for standing out? He's always done it and he's doing it yet again; nice! :)
I got to say though, this press release came with the title "Ranveer's Ballsy Move" and of course I laughed for like 30 seconds straight because who doesn't love a good pun? The actor, too, makes full use of this by taking the opportunity to play with words in his official statement. Check it out below!

As an actor and as an individual, I have a propensity for pushing the envelope, breaking the mould and taking the road less travelled. As such, I constantly endeavour to build an equity that is unique - one that truly stands out from the crowd. Over the past three-and-a-half years that I've been a part of the Hindi film industry, I've declined several tempting endorsement offers. I've been saving my brand virginity for the right one. And now, finally, I'm popping my cherry with the world's leading brand in Sexual Wellbeing - Durex! Sex is still considered a taboo in our country and the idea behind my association with Durex is to create awareness around sexual wellbeing, promote safe sex and have fun while doing it! After intensive brainstorming, my partners at Durex and I have jointly devised a kickass creative campaign, but it'll be a while before it releases. It will surely hit the spot, but it won't be coming soon!"
All jokes aside, we really do need a mainstream face representing a condom brand in this country - and Ranveer has already told us that the idea behind their association is to promote safe sex and create awareness around sexual well-being. The General Manager of RB India, Nitish Kapoor, has also said that they want to "positively engage in a discussion around the subject of sexual well-being and safe sex in India." So, yup, definitely looking forward to seeing their campaign soon - hopefully it's not a long and hard wait.
