Well...I personally had criticized Aliya for her actions during Fahad track & am not doing so for Zain. Your main issue is about the approach towards the characters for the same issue right? Well...here goes...
Personally...I didn't see any major criticisms for Aliya when she she was lieing to Zain. I infact remember people enjoying Zain's jealous act more. Of course I may be wrong...but in any case...like Yuvika said, Aliya had hidden like everything from Zain, while he had atleast cleared out who he was with, why he was with her. Neither of them should be lying in the first place...but Aliya's glared out more...because Zain had atleast made attempts to tell her most of the truth. Hence the 'hypocrisy' in judging them.
Shouting on siblings...Yup, people, including me, were irritated at her for stopping Zain. And that was because, after Zain knew the whole truth & everything, he had every right to question Fahad why he put their whole business, at stake...basically risking bringing his entire family on the streets. (Personally...I don't think THAT was a small issue at all...but anyways.) He barely just about raised his voice. Then Aliya stepped in & despite knowing Fahad was wrong, started taunting Zain. In Ayat's case...Zain was not taunting Aliya, nor was he criticizing her. He simply stopped her...because he knew everything about Ayat & didn't want Aliya being harsh on her without knowing the truth. The situation would be same to me...if on Monday, after Aliya knows everything, scolds Ayat for being so stupid/nave, & Zain interfers. Then hell yes...I will be pissed. Right now...the situation is not the same to me.
Zain screamed on Aliya because he thought that she had sold precious family heirlooms for a boyfriend. How does that sound? Exactly for what are we to criticize him? Is he not supposed to get angry at that? The issue with Aliya questioning Zain's honesty is that...why taunt him when she herself has lied. This part has been explained better already so not going further into the topic.
Aliya is not bashed all the time. We loved her in the beginning of the nikaah track for her no nonsense behavior, & the appreciation HAS taken place here. Including her retorting to Zain. Zain was more criticized that time because perhaps majority saw him as being more wrong. Right now...its Aliya's actions which seem more wrong. Where exactly does the hypocrisy you are talking about come in?😲 How is it fair to simply accuse a group of people for being close minded & having double standards for the male & female leads? I love Zain as a character more, but that's not because he is the male lead/good looking. Its because I find his strongly silent & shaded character more intriguing, while Aliya's more open & visibly strong character I admire & am thankful for. ZaYa may have similar traits/characteristics, but they are sure as hell not written or conceived the same way. They may have been put into similar situations, may have tackled it in similar ways...but their approach was NOT the SAME. Then why should ours be?
