Kabra's mother is cheap and disgusting. How can she destroy a girl's reputation like that?

She is worse than ratan.

People do things when they are anger. our that state of mind will close our eyes to see the truth. Fate is other thing which repeats in different forms. The curse and drama made by sekhars on jagdidh ganga marriage will repeat now in another form. CV's wants to unite vivek&sachi which becomes possible by this.

In my view Colors should be taken to court for what they are showing. Publicising a rape victim's name and using her photograph is a criminal offence. So if the channel shows the rapist's family doing that, the channel also has a moral duty to show that the family is punished for violating the law.
There is so much of liberty being taken by channels in the name of showing a rape track. Another channel had TV news reporters hounding the rape victim, slandering her, and destroying her. Forget the trashing of the victim, TV cannot even reveal the identity or picture of the victim. Even the victim's family cannot be dragged into news or otherwise made public.
I'm sickened by the lack of sensitivity in the way Colors is going about the track. In the beginning they were sensible. They showed the trial being conducted without publicity. Now obviously because of dropping TRPs, they have gone the way other channels. Disgusting.
I posted this link before on rape coverage, and I do this again: https://www.thehoot.org/web/home/story.php?storyid=7052&mod=1&pg=1&sectionId=54&valid=true
It doesn't help that a few people on the forum feel Sanchi is getting her just desserts from the Kabra parents and sister. The sister is allowed to threaten the victim, abuse her and the parents are destroying her for a heinous crime committed by their son. In the name of cinematic liberty, channels are crossing the line, and this should be condemned, not justified as tit for tat.
It seems Saanchi must always be condemned no matter what she does. When she was evil, obviously there was reason to abhor her evil actions. Post-rape, what do people expect her to do? If she wallowed in self-pity, she would be made fun of and dismissed as doing naatak. If she pulled herself together and did something with her life, then sorry this is unbelievable. If she tried to do good, what nonsense!
So what would qualify as acceptable behaviour from Saanchi post her rape? She should go back to being evil because that would be in character? But then if she did that she would bashed as a shameless woman who continues to be awful despite the rape experience. Would any of us remain ourselves after an incident like this?
Maybe they could have shown her gradually becoming a better person. But how is this evolution to be shown? And if indeed it was shown, would it not have been dismissed as too excruciating to watch?.

Colors is irresponsible. They are showing how a a rape victim can be hounded by the perpetrators and their family.

I was shocked when they showed sticking those horrible posters.

Rohini, hats off to you for this post. Also the link you sent is very informative.

Regarding the post-rape behaviour of the society; let me quote an incident from my B.Tech days. One of our junior girls, was molested/raped by 3 seniors as she protested to ragging. It was a well-planned move by the seniors and the same evening the whole girl hostel was in severe distress. Even we went on for a "BHOOK HARTAL" in front of the principal's room and the management came for rescue. However not much was done as the lady could not identify the culprits as it was done in much darkness. Ultimately the whole college knew both the victim as well as the culprit.

However it was something which I could not believe when a group of girls in hostel came to oppose her moves. They said the female is shameless, how could she project such an incident before the whole world and she should have committed suicide instead.

However the victim was a strong girl. She studied and worked hard. Now she is working in USA in a good job and ultimately ended up in a love marriage with her group-mate in college days. He accepted her knowing it all and even today appreciate her for her courage.

Under such incidents usually it's females who belittle the victims rather than men.

I don't know how far the society has improved since this incident. However women rather than sympathizing, find it fun to gossip and demean such victims. Not always one can conceal the identity of a rape victim, it depends on the situation.

Agree with you post - the persons disclosing the identity of rape victim should be prosecuted and relevant provisions in Law should be shown in the serial - for drama and TRP - they should not give out wrong messages.

Regarding Sanchi's behaviour post trauma - I actually like her getting normal without too much self-pity etc. If someone used drugs and raped her - it is not her fault. Her faults were not listening to her well-wishers especially Payal and Anandi. In my view creatives went wrong when they made her like those 60's heroines - walking and talking too slowly etc. and her 'working' in Bhaili. She is a qualified MBA - she should have applied for proper job - it is not that since she has changed so she can automatically be interested in social service. A person may leave his/her evil ways - but changing the basic nature just because of one incident is hard to accept. Perhaps creatives think that 'good' person will only do social service. Her reply to Anuj why she did not join a job was also strange - do people work only for money? Why did she do MBA if she did not intend to take up a job?

And I agree - forum members would not have accepted anything except slaps, trauma etc. for Sanchi. Redemption is reserved for badi haveli people only.

@Debbiee - the society has not improved. However, now people generally do not say such things in open, but in private (or in case of political leaders etc. even in interviews) the blame somehow comes to the victim - her dress, her behaviour, what she was doing at that time at that place etc.

really an encouraging story. Happy that the girl was strong enough to withstand that incident and the ensuing censure by some girls.
