Sudha does her prayers, aarti. As she goes out she meets Raj. She looks at Raj with anger and sort of hate. He looks at the pooja thali, but she hides it with her hand, and turns around and leaves. Raj just keep looking at her.
Meenakshi is packing, when her husband calls, she tells him to send Ram Din to the station to pick them up, they would be leaving tomorrow night. He asks if they are bringing Sudha with them, and Meenakshi says yes, but we will need to take care of her as she is very depressed.
Sudha comes in and offers the thali to Meenakshi, and tells her that tomorrow is her mothers chautha, and she would like to hold pooja and havan. Meenakshi tells Sudha that Raj and herself will prepare everything for the chautha, and will leave soon after.
Raj comes in, and Meenakshi tells him that Sudha has agreed to come to Mumbai with them. Raj tells his mother that Sudha hates him, how would she be able to live in the same house as him.
Guruji comes, he asks about Sudha, Meenakshi tells Guruji that she is preparing for Chautha, and then she will be leaving with them for Mumbai. Guruji asks Raj what happened about audition. Raj tells him that Sudha sang very well. Guruji tells them that Kavita was confident that Sudha would be selected, and if she is then she will come out of this depression, and will be happy if she is able to fulfill the dream of her parents. Guruji tells Raj that music is very important for Sudha.
Raj calls the channel office to find out about the results of Sudha's audition, and is told that they have already sent out letters some 3-4 days ago. Meenakshi tells him that no letter has arrived.
Raj goes to Sudha's room, she is packing, he does not go in. He sees Sudha leave the room, and goes in to search for the letter, but cant find it.
Raj, Meenakshi and Sudha are having their dinner. Raj by action of eyes asks his mother to talk to Sudha. Meenakshi asks Sudha if she recd any letter from the channel and Sudha says no.
Raj goes out and calls the channel guy again to confirm about the letter, the guy says he has sent the letter, and Sudha has to sign and return the letter back to them.
Raj goes to the post office to find out about the letter. One person there informs him that the letter was not received at the house and now is being returned to the sender. Raj goes to the guy who is responsible for that section. At first that guy tells Raj not to trouble him, but on mention of Sudha's name he lets Raj search for the letter and Raj finds it.
Raj comes home with the letter and just outside he meets Sudha, he tries to talk to her, but she is not willing to talk to him. She tells Raj if Meenakshi aunty and her mother were not friends, she would not have wanted to see him again. She tells him that now they will have to see each other, but will just be like strangers. Sudha turns around to leave but Raj stops her and gives her the letter. Raj tells her to take the letter as she may have to prepare herself for singing. Sudha takes the letter and goes inside.
Preparations for havan and pooja have started. Raj is there and the garland around Sudha's mom's pic is slipping so he places it properly, she does not like it and just stares at Raj and he leaves it, and she does it herself. Raj looks at her and remembers her smiling face, when she first came home, on the terrace, singing.
Raj tells his Mom that Sudha has received the letter from the channel and she need to reply back by this evening. Meenakshi tells him she will talk to Sudha after the prayers are over. Sudha is preparing for guests and Raj seeing her remembers the sad times, Sudha wanting to talk to her mother, crying, getting angry at him.
Pooja starts, Sudha remembers the times she spent with her mother. During the pooja Raj gets a call from his father, who informs Raj that the channel people have called for Sudha and were talking about rehersals, he tells Raj to ask Sudha to call them. Raj tells him that havan is on, and Mummy will talk to Sudha after that.
Havan finishes, the Pandit is about to put water over the fire, when Sudha stops him. The Pandit tells her that this is the way its done, Sudha tells the Pandit to wait, she goes and gets the channels letter, tears it to pieces and puts it in the fire as well, and says that she does not think she will be able to sing ever again.
