Naveen's Wedding - the Wardrobe

Hey, this is arbitary.....

well, we at the LRL Threads community [http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=25525722]....have a game called "HOTSEAT", in which all the members ask questions to the weekly elected "bakra".....well, I have been the bakra for the week.....and I have been popped with this question, that if Naveen gt married, and I were to design the wedding wardrobe for all the characters, how would I dress tham.....

.....Well, I am no expert, but here's my attmpt!

Hi, I am JIV….nation's leading designer…..here are some pages from my record book….

The Ahluwalia Wedding – Dresses.

Designer: JIV.

GROOM: CAPTAIN NAVEEN SINGH AHLUWALIA.

Handsome tall man…a perfect army captain…..

….kya kamal ka banda hai…..uski shaadi ki Sherwani ka design decide karne aaya tha….aur mere saath hi flirt kar raha tha….issssshhh….but, very cute!

I made him a crme and gold Sherwani….as it suited his fair complexion and wont make him look too striking….with a matte golden dupatta….

I assembled it with a dark green precious stones chest length neck piece…and old style crme and gold mojhree….

BRIDE: RITU MISHRA.

Slim-beautiful-glamorous looking woman with a wheatish complexion.

She was very choosie….so we zeroed on a Lahenga made from a Red Kanjivaram Silk saree….and a soft red gold Odhni…..She decided on big long gold necklace…and heavy bangles……she wanted to look like a perfect bride.

GROOM'S BEST MAN – CAPTAIN RAJVEER SINGH SHEKHAWAT.

Well, this gentleman was a difficult task…as everything suited him, and I wanted to select the best.

Finally, I made him a black Sherwani with subtle gold embroidery - with a black and gold khes[dupatta].

MRS.NAINA SINGH SHEKHAWAT.

[Naveen would hae married off Naina well before him….100%….as Naina once said, during the mentorship camp, that Naveen refused to accept any girl as he first wanted Naina to be settled….and if he had to give away the sister he loved the most in the world, away in marriage……who would he choose, other than, the man he trusted the most?….so jodiyan swarg main banti hain…KMA through nahin to Naveen through inhe to milna hi tha…..kisi raah bhi nikalke…]

This girl evidently means life to both Naveen and Rajveer! They would do anything……anything to make her happy…..and anything to make her annoyed! But their, naughtiness is their love for her! And even a stranger like me felt that she might be one of the luckiest sisters, and luckiest wives!

I made her a greatly worked upon halter blouse with golden zardosi(however u spell this) work with a semi transparent crme saari….which has a 20inch intensely worked upon….with golden zardosi and golde beads….boarder. I made her a specially designed big and prominent tikka(the ornament that is worn by a hook, which is pinned in the hair…and its pendent falls on the forehead), with her hair open. We assembled her a whole lot of golden and crme bangles….in one hand and a beautiful ornamental golden watch in the other….a gift from her brother. I gave her some subtle make up, with a high gloss nude colour lipstick and kohl rimmed eyes, which makes her look very elegant.

Naveen and Rajveer(a pair of brats, I must say…..but lucky Naina! To have such two people in her life!) were both more concerned about what she wore than Naina herself! They were very insistent on making her wear a saari…..and both fought loudly in my studio while selecting the color for her saari……and Naina stood….awestruck….

…..she came to me and said…. "Do I have a say in this?"

POOJA BEGH

She is Naina's best friend, and Naveen's Mooh-boli-bahen. Verrry talkative and bubbly. I made her a well fitted, waist lenghth white choli, with silver work and matched it with a light pink flowing ghaghra! I have no clue why she insisted on the combination. She had the duptta hooked to her big finger ring and big pink and silver danglings shining in her ears. I made her tie her hair in a half pony by a crystal pin.

Lt. ALI BEGH

Lt.Ai Begh, is Pooja's husband, and Naveen's collegue. He has taken up the job of welcoming and attending to the guests from the army.

Being a very simple man by nature, I made Ali a glow white Sherwani weith Lakhnawi Embroidery all over, and a white khes to match.

CAPTAIN AALEKH SHARMA

I enjoyed immensely meeting this gentleman. He is Naina and Naveen's childhood friend. When I asked him which colours he preferred for his Sherwani, He said, "Koi bhi, mujhe kapde se matlab hai, kaala ho ya peela, color ko kya karega?"

…..So I used my imagination for this unique gentleman, and designed him a deep brown and black Sherwani. He insisted on no gold-silver-zari work in his outfit…..so his Sherwani goes simple…..but one of the most dignified.

[I believe Naina and Naveen had pushed this fellow in my studio to get him into some good designer clothes, as he seemed utterly uninterested.]

Lt.AMARDEEP HUDA

Captain Huda is Naveen's collegue. They had become best friends when Naveen was posted on the Gujarat border.

Meet the dude…..Captain Huda is extremely particular about what her wears, and how he looks. He certainly loves to be the center of attention, and admiration, and he gets his way…..always!

I got completely distressed in the 2hrs we spent together, discussing his outfit. Finally, I designed him, a Persian/Navy Blue semi-formal jacket , with a light blue high collar shirt. He found himself a very trendy matte silver neckpiece…and a chained loose bracelet….and I suggested him to go for a pair of shiny sqaure toe shoes!

MR.YADUVANSH SAHANI

Naina and Naveen's friend, and now, Naina's boss. He is a Harward Business School Graduate…..and looks every inch of it! Very dignified, poised…..and classy! He came in asking for help in choosing between his Versace' and Armaani suits.

MRS.ROOHEY SAHANI

Yudi's wife…..they are a cupid! I see him softening up to no end in front of her! I designed this petite an off-shoulder short kurta on her black semi-formal trousers, and a tiny diamond pendent with a transparent thread, to go with it!

MISS NEELU SAHANI

Born and brought up in the States, Neelu is very oustspoken, bold and high-minded. She wanted me to design her clothes on her conditions….I mean, she told me what to design and then I tag it by my brand name! But since her ideas were not so very bad…..I let her do, as her sister-in-law, Roohey requested, and she is a sweetheart!

Finally, we made her a backless green choli, very well-fitted, and assembled it with a darker green shade of a ghaghra with a transparent golden dupatta! She wore huge danglings, and high heels, with it!

BREG.CHANDOK

Senior Army Officer…..but still very unassuming and e-l-e-g-e-n-t….to the last word! He is Naveen's mentor. Extremely proud of his best cadet!

I made this man[enormous frame, must say], a deep green Sherwani, with a black Kashmiri Shawl.

CAPTAIN DR.SHALINI SEHGAL

Ritu's best friend. She is simply splendid! She lifts up everyone's spirits by her smile! She had been Naveen's collegue, and has been instrumental in getting the pair together. I made her a beautiful yellow saari with a sleevless, and deep-back blouse. She wore a tiny golden necklace with bigger gold tops – which had a chain that could be tucked into her hair….which were tied in a bun.

….Well, there goes, another assignment….but must say, I really enjoyed….meeting this lot…..and made some good friends!
