I hope next time you carefully write 'many/most/some indian' instead of putting all in one category.

My dear, I do not appreciate the rude undertone of your post. This being a public forum, please maintain forum decorum.

At no point, I said Indian audience is stupid. If I said that I am calling myself such. Besides, I am not a Caucasian to get confused by Sikhs and TAliban. Btw, the reason a Caucasian get confused is very similar to the thought process in my post or rather the lack of knowledge (btw, are you saying or implying that Caucasian are stupid and not misinformed??).

In a nutshell - if a person never lived in the West - he/she will never know why or when a boot is worn, or what is 'in', nor I believe is that Cvs care about such minute details. To most general audience, Samira with that short dress and boot was "western' enough. The current fashion trend need not be followed by the Cvs to get that point across - nor the Indian audience needs to google Western fashion trends right after they watch the serial to follow the storyline and what is being implied in the process - and to me, that was the purpose of the change (even if that trend isn't necessarily up to date) and Cvs have succeeded in it all right - Please do not jump to conclusion and refrain from bashing others. Thanks,

The fashion still has to make sense. Boots are used for cold weather. In your post, you seem to be implying that people in India do not know when or how to use a pair of boots? This is the same country producing doctors and engineers??? If this was the 80s or 90s..I would understand..but in an age of social media and the internet ...plus western images and shows being watched by young girls everywhere...I find that logic hard to swallow!!

And Samaira is not in a village where people are illiterate... she is a city girl ...living in Mumbai ...as a celebrity ! At least the CV can be true to her character and dress her properly. Or all girls wearing snow boots in 35C weather in Mumbai ?

And they want to follow a fashion trend that university and teens are wearing on a 20 something woman and mom? If they want to make Samaira look "western" they can make it age appropriate at least.

Also, in case you may not be aware, girls look to Indian tv shows for fashion trends in terms of what the heroines are wearing..so much so that stores actually offer character looks aka "saree's worn by Toasty in Saas Bina Sasural etc"... so yes girls/women are googling fashion trends based on tv shows.

Stop presuming what 'indian audience' knows or doesn't know. Your post clearly shows what you think of Indians even if you are one.
Unlike you, I used the word 'most' bcoz anyone who keeps an eye on international news, knows how many western people treat Asians and how good their GK is.

It is so funny of you to assume that only when a person has lived in the west, he/she would know what's going on. 🤣
Next we'll be telling we didn't know anything about the space or earth going around the sun before humans landed on the moon 😆

Reminds me of people who claim all ppl of a particular religion are bad bcoz a bunch of ppl did something wrong.

Maybe you should read what you wrote properly or let me quote:
to an Indian audience, the short dress and the boots looks Western and modern (and different) and so Hollywood' celebrity like, and so in
They (meaning Indian audience) don't or rather aren't following what is in

Now, don't be a politician and say, I didn't mean the whole audience. End of discussion.

this member actually reminds of NRIs who think they are high class citizens who think all 'desis' are ignorant fools and know nothing about the world.
or those aspirants who are stuck in India and for them the west is an utopia and India is full of people with no brains.

I hate when any race or country is labelled as, ye sab aise hi hote hain.

The Q is how many girls in Mumbai or any other city wears boots - not many, at least I can't remember any of my head. If they are, the number is few and mostly some celebrity for a fashion statement. And the same reason these celebrity are wearing boots are the same reason celebrity anywhere in the world wears sunglasses during interview in a windowless studio, right?

So, reasoning isn't there why a boot is worn. It is worn to convey the 'fact' that Samira is implying she is Western, which to me is achieved by the Cvs. Most ppl, even Indians who are highly educated wouldn't sit to think that it is hot summer months and that is a wrong costume. They watch it for what it is conveyed, atleast not to the middle /lower class Indians or the housewives who watches the show. The point that the Cvs wanted to make was made simply with those boot - they just achieved their aim.

Or maybe even the Cvs are super smart and showing that Samira is in fact 'stupid' for she is imitating the 'western' trend' cause she was never shown to really 'live' in the West. In fact it might be a double edged sword here - who knows ? But, the fact is the boot are more a statement here than anything else. Besides, as someone already said - CVs work on limited finance and they are more conveying the idea - than trying to be up to date in fashion - do they even care?? To them, it is age appropriate enough...

Now, the Q is are the shopkeepers selling Toasty sarees or Samira "boot" - I think sarees win hand down, right ...Even the college teens aren't wearing to boots, so for them to appreciate the need is not even there...

Edit/add: So the Q for Cvs, is always need vs required...whether the Cvs really need to be following Western fashion to get the point across...

Let's just stick to Samaira's style mishap and not bring up racial tensions around the world.
Boots are just a big no no in a city like Mumbai or Delhi. And nothing will justify her wearing it. Having limited budget for Samaira's clothes actually makes no sense to me. She's not wearing anything designer. This is not the 90s anymore.

If the cvs are trying to convey that she's a foreigner then she SHOULD look like a foreigner. Doing it half-way and assuming Indians don't know better is actually dumb.

Just like having bloopers in storylines and Indians are smart enough to catch onto them, this is the same.

What I dont get is if she is working for a big company like the Jag's...would they not sponsor her outfits ..makeup..clothes etc...especially when she does appearances for them? I would think companies do those types of things for the "face" of their company! Feel like this is a BIG Blooper on the part of the CV and not thinking things thru

I saw a preview of tmw's epi and her hair looked really bad and again the outfit was tacky

Ash is such a cute and pretty girl and the CV / make up team are hell bent on making her look as bad as possible!

The only person who looks sharp is Aditya but I feel like he is wearing the same suit all the time?!

This is a limited run show so its not like they need to stretch their budget for years and years of saas bahu blinged up sari's!
