Punch lines:

" Gave such a expensive gift and on return got a cheap gift - promise will never go overboard on gifts with this person"

" I don't care what one give - 10$ or rs 501 is what a person gives as a gift - even though he/she gets 5000 worth gifts"

"Make a note how much is giving to return the same"

SIL - "Forget the gifts we get, but make sure return gifts for kids are real cool and expensive"

Debate - Returning gifts of equal or more value is a moral deed?

Todays trend of hosts giving return gifts on BD's of kids makes sense??? - My SIL is planning for returning gifts rather then arrangement of nieces BD party late july... which she has assigned to poor bro who inturn assigned it to me..elder bros are wicked...joru key - no comments😆😆

Before am quoted let me state my opinion - Don't care who gave what for gifts.. once I walk in a store having a person in mind, just pick the best suited no matter the value is. I will never give return gifts of ishaallah my kids (Ameen) BD party... unless forced 😆 Please don't follow this trend and throw debateable points.

return gifts, interesting

SIL, i thought you have a son in law i got so bamboozled then i realized after few minutes its sister in law 😆 return gifts might be a trend, usually for kids, the most that matters is invitation to the kids bday and not the gift. i dont see return gifts common at various places.

if you are buying a gift, then make sure it is in your limits, not running out of money. the value of the gift doesnt matter. i hate people who complain what they got in a gift, how stupid! my friends or i always make sure whenever we are gifting, not the return gift, but the gift in general, the person is able to use it. on a side note, the quality of gift doesnt matter to some people, but i guess it does matter in some places otherwise you wouldnt see a bee line for return gifts right after certain occassions 😆 😆 😆

i didnt get your last line 😕

Kids love return gifts. I agree with your SIL here....but they don't have to be expensive to be cool. I really don't care how much the gifts my girls get are worth. I get similar return gifts for all kids.

One time, we bought whole bunch of plain slippers and lots of decorative things like lace, sequins, feathers etc and the girls glued them on the slippers. This way, each girl created a personally designed designer slipper and they took it home with them as a return gift. They were all so proud of their creation and absolutely adored their slippers.

On other ocassion, I got some fancy cookie cutters and chocolate chip cookie dough. The kids cut the cookies and I baked them......then they decorated them with icing, colored sugar crystals etc and took their cookies home with them as return gift 😃

So you see Raj....just don your thinking cap and go at it....fun doesn't have to be expensive.

Do let us know how the party went 😉

I give gifts which is within my means and never expect any return gift for that particular occassion. I know return gifts are fad with kids birthday these days. I ahve seen that with weddings, baby showers, wedding showers too. In someway it teaches other kids to expect alot more than what they get sometimes.

It is another commercialization. What ever happened to just the Thank you cards with personalized notes 😕 😳
