Akshay defends Vivek

Only few days ago it was rumored that Vivek Oberoi had approached Vipul Shah for Upen Patel's role in the recently released 'Namastey London'. When Akshay heard it, he got angry and said in disgust: 'I'm absolutely shocked that the people can actually go to such an extent without verifying the facts. Vivek is like a younger brother to me. I wanted Vivek to work in the film and had suggested this to Shah. I wonder why people are saying otherwise. I have great regard for Vivek and his potential as an actor.' Sources close to Akshay confirm that Shah had called Vivek to his office to go through the script and Vivek had then met the director out of respect. But, when Vivek heard the script, he felt the role would fit a newcomer and politely told Shah that he would not be able to do it. The role eventually went to Upen Patel. This has proved to be a great vehicle for Upen, and in spite of being a newcomer the latter has got applaud for his performance in the film.

Singer Adnan Sani has drastically shed his weight. As a result, he is happy but his fans are happier. They have been sending him SMSs as they are very inquisitive to know the secret behind his turning so slim. His female fans say that they like him more as he has turned more handsome now. A slim and handsome Adnan was noticed when he appeared as judge at the Pentaloon Femina Miss India contest in Mumbai recently.

Movie on good verses bad

Set for some magic on screen as a battle of good verses bad unfolds in the form of a light hearted narrative. Tanushree Dutta (Bad Girl) would be seen with Tushaar Kapoor (Good Boy) and Imraan Hashmi (Bad Boy) opposite Isha Shrawani in their next 'Good Boy Bad Boy' directed by Ashwini Chaudhary, under the banner of Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts. With an interesting premise like this, it is quite just that the film's tagline reads "When Good Meets Bad, There is Magic". Also starring is Paresh Rawal in a pivotal role besides Chilean-Indian model Jennifer Mayani playing the role of Jenny. Himesh Reshammiya has given the music. The movie is scheduled to release in May this year.

Animated movie on Ghatotkach

One more animation movie is in the offing. This time it's on Ghatotkach, son of Bheem and his wife Hidamba of the Mahabharat epic. Ghatotkach was known as Ghattu, and was a very, very strong youth. This is going to be in the series of animation films like Hanuman and Krishna. The success of Indian animation films has been too encouraging. After all, parents don't have time and energy during the present age to narrate Indian historical stories and epics to their children as was the tradition in the past. Hence, animation movies are doing this coveted job wonderfully.

Salman's gesture

Salman Khan is often known for wrong reasons though he has a very soft heart. However, the media isn't aware of his gestures towards the sufferers. Recently, Sallu was seen calling upon a child suffering from cancer at the latter's school function. Sallu had been to the child's school and remained with him for over half an hour. Though the media was present there, Sallu avoided bringing to its notice excepting. However, the school principal later disclosed to the media that Salman had only in the recent past given a sum of Rs half a million towards the child's treatment.
