"So, Karan tum karte kya ho?"Taani asked as she drove back to wedding house. Rey who was already sitting at the backseat with puffed cheeks and baby anger looked at karan who was sitting beside taani at front.
"Dusron ki Girlfriends ke saath chipakta hai.." Rey murmured under his breathe.
"Huh..Rey tumne kuch kaha?" Taani asked him looking at him through the back view mirror.
"No..Nahi to..Mein to kitni der se chup chap PEECHE betha ho!" Taani saw him with his puffed cheeks and instantly giggled on his antics. Long gone were those days when he rarely used to express his emotions. That library Reyaansh is still her favourite but she couldn't deny that she was loving this love sick puppy too.
"Vo..I am an architect. Iss waqt mein ek MNC mein work kar raha hu." Karan said.
"Aur aap.." Karan asked taani. She smiled.
"Taani apna family business handle karti hai." Rey interrupted their convo.
"Exactly!" Taani said.
"You know, Shekhawat empire. Huge..Big..Uske paas bikul FALTU logon se baat karne ka time nahi hai." Rey said dramatically acting concerned for karan.
"Rey.." Taani glared at him.
"What?! I just said you are a busy women. Itna busy ki CHANGING ROOMS mein tak inhe fursat nahi hoti.." Rey made a pity face. Karan laughed completey ignorant of the meaning of his line while taani blushed at his indirect hit.
"Here we are." Taani said distracting everyone as they reached their destination. The trio came out of the car only to be welcomed by Swayam and Sharon's family.
Mr. Shekhawat reached Karan and pulled him into a light hug. "Aane mein koi takleef to nahi hui na beta!"
"Nahi mamaji! Taani bilkul correct time pe aa gayi thi." He said smiling at taani who cordially returned it back.
"Mujhe pata hai. Taani beta saari responsibilities bahot achhe se sambhalti hai." Mr. Shekhawat felt proud on his choice of handling all wedding responsibilities to Taani. Karan after meeting everyone reached Swayam and hugged him.
"Achha to ye hai vo, jiske liye mera bhai itna pagal ho gaya ki shaadi ka laddu khane ke liye bhi tayyar ho gaya!" He said eyeing at sharon who was by now all red by blush.
"Hi.. Karan.." He extended his hand towards sharon.
"Sharon.." She accepted the shake.
"I must say swayam, tu bahot hi lucky hai yaar. Itni khoobsurat ladki mil gayi." Karan teased Swayam.
"Hey Bhagwan! Ye ladka to Sharon pe bhi line maar raha hai." Rey said in a dramatic tone standing beside taani.
"Kaha..seedhe se to baat kar raha hai." Taani said.
"Taani..tum nahi samjhogi. Ye aaj kal ke ladke..bas ek mauka chahiye hota hai..aur ladki ke peeche naha dhoke pad jaate hai." Rey said as if taani is a small kid unaware of life's tragedy.
"Rey..stop it..bechara kuch kar bhi nahi raha hai..aur tum ho ki uske peeche pad gaye ho." Taani said glaring at him.
"Mein kyun uske peeche padu?! Mein sirf aur sirf tumhare peeche padunga." He said holding his hand mischievously not allowing anyone to see their romance. Taani giggled and started freeing her hand from his grip.
"Vaise tum aaj raat kya kar rahi ho??" Rey asked looking at her with a grin.
"Kya matlab.." Taani too smirked at him.
"Agar aaj raat tum free ho to vo kal wali exercise mein aaj raat bhi continue kar sakta hu." Rey took a step further towards her resulting in his shoulder brushing hers.
"Aur agar mein aaj Balcony mein hi nayi aayi to." Taani raised her eye at him.
"To koi baat nahi!! Mein room ke andar aa jaunga. Par uske baad jo hoga uske liye mein responsible nahi hu." Rey grinned at her.
"Achha!! Mr. Reyaansh Singhania, aap kuch zyada hi badmaash nahi ho gaye hai."
"Kyun?! Aapko ye wala Rey pasand nahi..Ms. Taani Shekhawat?"
"Mujhe to Reyaansh Singhania pasand hai. In and out. Vo jaisa bhi ho. Uska har naya avatar.." She came to her ear." Mujhe bahot pasand hai." She whispered and ran away leaving him dazed at the door.
"Neil!! I swear mein tujhe maar dalunga!" Vicky ran towards Neil while caring least of his warnings he continued Rofling on the bed.
"Tum dono ko hua kya hai?" Swayam said while buttoning his coat. It was his and sharon's cocktail party tonight.
"Arey yaar Swayam!! Isne meri shirt jala di. Ab mein pehnunga kya??" Vicky said getting annoyed.
"To kisne kaha tha Neil ko shirt dene ke liye. Kisi aur se iron karva leta." Rey said while looking at the mirror admiring his look.
"Isne mujhse pucha hi kab. Bas meri shirt lekar vo Pammi Aunty ko de aaya!!" Vicky said.
"Aur vo pummy aunty to pehle se hi vicky ki deewani hai..jhat se maan gayi iron karne ke liye.." Neil said still rofling.
"Par vo ghar ke kaam mein zero hai.." Swayam said.
"Tabhi to iski shirt ka ye haal ho gaya.." Rey said giggling himself. Soon everyone joined them including Rithvik and Karan.
"Swayam mein kaisa lag raha hu!!" Karan and Rey asked him simultaneously. Rey glared at Karan
"Yaar! Tum dono mujhse ye girlfriend wale questions kyun puch rahe ho?!!" Swayam said while everyone giggled. Karan moved to Rithvik who was busy in gelling his hairs.
"Rithvik..Tum to taani ke bahot achhe friend ho na?!!" Karan said. He nodded with a smile.
"To tum mujhe batao na please, taani ko mein isme achha lagunga na!!" Karan asked with excitement where Rithvik became shocked on realising what he meant. His eyes suddenly drifted to Rey who was equally excited to dress up for taani. Within the three years of friendship, taani had shared everything with him- be it her depression about her dad's health or how much she missed her friends and Rey. After 3 years, taani had finally got back her love and now he was seeing chances of her most precious time getting ruined again.
"Rithvik..kaha kho gaya? Bol na!!" Karan said.
"Huh..ha! Bahot achha lagega use!" He returned with a smile. Now he had to do something.
In the mid of high celebrations through the cocktail party, when everyone was enjoying their drinks a few boys were standing with half drinks and without their partners.
"Guys, just clear me one thing!" Neil said. Everybody looked at him in confusion.
"Ye ladkiyan taiyaar hone mein itna time kyun lagati hai. I mean har baar to vahi karna hota hai inhe, same makeup, same gossips ke saath dressup phir bhi itna time. Aaj samajh mein aaya ki humara desh itna peeche kyun reh gaya, kyunki ye ladkiyan saara time to make up hi karti rahi." Neil said sarcastically . Soon his backhead got a hit of a strong hand realizing that it was his turn to grill.
"Really!! Tumhe aisa lagta hai Neil." Simmi said making him wish for a shell to hide. Everyone laughed at his usual antics.
"Simmi! Neha so gayi na aaram se!" Vicky asked once again making all of them giggle.
"Vicky tum hi to use sula ke aaye the right! Vo aaram se so rahi hai. Don't worry! Par uska aane ka bahot mann tha!" Simmi said.
"Ya! But pregnant ladies ke liye alcohol is not nice." Swayam added.
"Its ok guys. Aaj raat akele hi spent kar lunga." Vicky said with an assuring smile.
"Akele kyun!! Have you forgotten your best friend!!" He heard the same familiar voice and turned only to find his long lost best friend taani. Taani came and joined them with sharon.
"Vicky! Jab se mein aayi hu, tum Neha ke saath busy ho, par aaj to mein tumhe bilkul akele nahi chodungi. Bilkul college times ki tarah, khoob masti karenge!" She high fived vicky.
"Hey Rey.." Rithvik said trying to get his attention but his eyes were fixed on the scene in front of him. While taani was busy in making vicky dance with her, karan was trying to click their pictures with every angle possible.
"Dekho to iss bandar ko!! Kaise pictures pe pictures le raha hai." Rey muttered to himself.
"Vo taani ko like karta hai." Rithvik's voice make him come out of his trance and look at him in shock.
"What?! Iski to mein.." Rey became completely ready to beat the hell out of him. Rithvik stopped him to take any wrong step and sit beside him at the bar. He handled him a drink.
"College mein bhi to taani ke bahot deewane the right?!" Rithvik asked him.
"Ha..Vo psycho Raghav..hamesha taani ke peeche pada rehta tha..aur bhi bahot the. Taani ke lovers ki to kabhi kami nahi thi." Rey said suddenly smiling at the taani who was laughing while dancing with vicky.
"Aur L.A. mein Ranvijay..vo bhi to taani ko like karta tha.." Rithvik continued.
"Us jaise ladke ko 'like' aur 'love' ka matlab bhi nahi pata hoga. He was just a jerk." Rey said gritting his teeth.
"Aur L.A. se wapas aane ke baad, Mumbai mein bhi uske lovers ki koi kami nahi thi.." Rithvik said making Rey turn to him. "Office se leke humare business partners tak..there were so many jo uski ek ha ke liye apna sab kuch dene ke liye tayyar the. Vo hai hi aisi..usse kise pyaar nahi hoga. " Rey looked at taani admiring her. She was indeed special.
"Tumhe ek secret batao??" Rithvik said. Rey raised his eye at him.
"Un deewano mein se ek mein bhi hua karta tha..." Rithvik said smiling at Rey's shocked expression. "Ha..Jab mein pehli baar taani se mila..I started liking her..Uski aadatein..choices..maturity and at the same time bholapan..cuteness..zid..kuch karke dikhane ka junoon..har waqt ek survivor ki tarah saari problems face karna..she is a fighter." Rithvik said. Rey was completely surprised on his confession.
"Uske aur mere dad to humari shaadi tak ke baare mein soch rahe the.." Rey stood from his chair utterly shocked.
"Don't worry! Hum dono ne mana kar diya.." Rithvik giggled at his reactions.
"But baad mein meine taani ko apni feelings ke baare mein bataya, ye jaante hue bhi ki vo mujhe mana kar degi. Mein sirf apne dil ki baat usse share karna chahta tha. So I did."
"Aur usne kya kaha?" Rey asked him curiously.
"Usne..usne ek achhe dost ki tarah meri help ki..mujhe samjhaya..and finally meri dil ki feelings ko accept karte huye mujhe move on karna sikhaya. Vo mere liye ek inspiration hai. Ye jaante huye bhi ki mein uske liye feel karta hu..usne kabhi bhi mujhse awkward behave nahi kiya..hamesha mera saath diya aur mujhe life ko as it is accept karne ko kaha. Aur aaj dekho, sirf taani ke kaaran mein phir se pyaar kar paaya, and this time its forever. And you know what's the best point, ki mujhe mera pyaar bhi mila aur meri best friend bhi." Rithvik said smiling at taani who was enjoying funny steps of Vicky on the dance floor. Rey was smiling too seeing her crazy laugh at vicky.
"Sach to ye hai Rey..ki taani ki life mein kabhi bhi ladko ki kami nahi thi..par vo kal bhi tumse pyaar karti thi..aaj bhi karti hai aur aage bhi tumse hi karegi. Uski life mein tumhari jagah koi nahi le sakta." Rithvik finally made him realise his importance in taani's life.
"Jaha tak karan ki baat hai, aaj tak tumne khud ko har ladke se better prove kiya hai to aaj bhi kardo. Taani ko waise iss proof ki koi zaroorat nahi. Vo kabhi karan ko waise dekh hi nahi sakti. Par history gavah hai, hero chahe kitna bhi stylish ho, kitna bhi famous ho, ladki usse kitna bhi pyaar kyun na kare, usse ladki ko apna pyaar dikhane ke liye kuch special karna hi padta hai. Vo special moments jo usse ye realise karaye ki vo ladka usse kitna pyaar karta hai.." Rithvik winked at him as if giving him his hint
"Thanks dude!!" Rey hugged him completely understanding what's going inside his mind. He gulped down his entire drink in one sip keeping the glass aside. It was time to show.
"Vicky, I think tumne kuch zyada hi drink kar liya hai!" Taani said holding him.
"Kaha..bas.." Vicky started counting his drinks on his fingers. "Bas..4..4 drinks li meine." He said showing five fingers indeed.
"Vo to dikh raha hai." Taani looked at him with stern face.
"Don't worry taani! Mein isse manage kar lunga." Neil said while taking his hold from taani. "Mein aur swayam isse chod ke aate hai." He asked swayam who was about to come when Rithvik came in between.
"Its ok swayam. Mein chod dunga. Tumhari party hai..you guys enjoy." Rithvik gave him an assuring smile. Rithvik looked at taani and before taking vicky's hold whispered to her, "Enjoy the most. Ok!" Taani looked at him confused but he just winked at her and moved away with Neil and vicky.Before taani could think more, she received a message. It was from Rey.
'Tumse milna hai. Backyard in 5 minutes. I am waiting.' She looked around. He was not in the party. Hence she decided to go to the backyard and find out. She moved out of the party unaware of the future happenings.
