Call center bug is not new to folks here.

Younger generation intelligent / high communication skills / in other words future of country are working 3 shifts in call centers or BPO's.

Not to mention earning good salaries to enjoy western lifestyle at this young age. Growth at call centers is limited but earning money / enjoyment at that age is the focus. These folks are not targetting to develop more technical skills or earning higher degreees..

Reading this fact what are your thoughts :

1. With Call Centers and BPO' s - paying high salraies - is the youth India loosing focus? targeted to sections of talented folks living in metros and working for Call centers..

2. Lost focus of current generation in call centers, jeopradising country's future in longer term?

A very nice topic once again Anshuman 👏

I have very little knowledge on this subject as neither me nor any of my close family and friends are involved in these opportunities..

I would still like to answer with the help of what I read and what I understood about the topic:

1.The biggest fact supporting our present youth of India is that they have their priorities set...You talk to any of them(well most of them), they have their next 5-10 years already planned out..They are ambitious and hard workers as well..They know how to work as well as play hard...Considering all this, the quick money that they were making in the BPOs etc, would only be used for the betterment of their future...

Now tell me in what way is it going to benefit them , if they keep working constantly on bettering their technical skills..Ultimately you are only going to ask them to do another Job, right??On the other hand, handling so much money at the young age will increase their self image, which in return will help them set higher targets for themselves..

These are the pros, but I bet there are as many cons on this issue...I myself know a few of them, which I will put forth in another post..Don't want to clutter this one... 😃

2.Because of this 'new rich', India's buying power has increased multifold..Which is good in a way, other than the fact that most of the revenue is being refunneled back to where it belonged...Lack of focus is really not the case, so I wouldn't be able to comment on it.. 😊

I am just happy the youngsters are getting some good conference rooms with leather sofas and a/c to have some s*x...and dont have to go the gardens and parks after dusk... and more over somebody else paying them for it... kinda dream situation... Wish I could work at the sprawl... er i mean call center...😆😆

I doubt as most of the cousins I talked they say.. this is in thing - have ai received 15K salary as a fresher, then they talk about growth in BPO field, like after 3 years I will becomes team lead then group lead then branch manager... my assumption at fourty then will we managing branch of 3 wih handsome salary but hello we are loosing the technical edge, what we are known for as Indians

Now tell me in what way is it going to benefit them , if they keep working constantly on bettering their technical skills..Ultimately you are only going to ask them to do another Job, right??On the other hand, handling so much money at the young age will increase their self image, which in return will help them set higher targets for themselves..

Most of the money is spend in malls..If they use this oppurtunity and adhere to enhancing thier knowldge by gaining degrees not a problem. Exceptions who knowthier goals but others..

Another post.. Sounds good!
