Chapter 1
Taani was staring at her management textbook but nothing was getting ingrained into her mind. Instead it was busy wondering how big of a mess her life had become. Nothing was going right and she was well aware that nothing will in the near future.
Taani Shekhawat is the General Secretary of Saint Louise and the sister of Swayam Shekhawat, yet there is no one to support or respect her. The students doubt her capabilities and her so called friends are there only when they need her. And her boyfriend...sorry ex-boyfriend...is not the same.
She sighed thinking how much had changed in the past few years since she entered the college. She came in the hopes of fulfilling her dream of becoming a doctor, a cardiothoracic surgeon to be exact but had to take a complete different route due to her brother and Tauji.
Her brother refused to take over her Tauji's (already in debt) company and she was left with no other option but to takeover. Hence, instead of coming to St. Louis to pursue a BSc, she ended up taking BA/BCom.
As she entered, no one really took much liking of her since she was a non-dancer and a complete nerd. But her GS of that time, Reyaansh Singhania, had somehow fallen for her and proposed. She obviously accepted because he was nothing but a sweetheart. It was a dream for her. Too bad, dreams don't last for long. As she got busy with her studies and Rey got busy with his dance practices, it was impossible to make time for each other. Due to the lack of time, he resigned from his post and Taani was made the GS.
It was a pain for her.
Not only did she have to be strict with her boyfriend but the gang as well. Which obviously didn't go down too well for them. They were angry at her for everything and humiliated her many times. The only reason they would stop is because of her brother or Rey. But, everything changed the day that Rey decided to break-up with her. She was left alone to deal with the gang and so far, it wasn't going well.
"Taani!" She shook out of her thoughts as she saw her brother looking down at her with concern, "Yeah bhai, you needed something?"
"Hmm...woh NDC ki files chaiye thi," he said and she quickly got up to hand them to him.
"Bhai, you have semi-finals less than a week, could you ask the gang to complete the routine and give it to the VP?" She asked politely, completely drained from energy. Her brother just nodded and walked out.
She slumped back down to her chair in tension, so much to do in such little time. Her phone rang and she picked it up immediately, "Taani mam, we need some signatures for our deal with Mr. Khurana...when can you come to office?"
Her assistant Mihir waited as she looked at the time and tried to clear her schedule, "bas abhi ek ghantey mein pohanch ti hoon."
She grabbed files for the office from under the desk and quickly left the college in her small car. The office was twenty minutes away but the rush hour will make the journey longer.
Meanwhile, the gang was bombarding on Swayam in the rehearsal hall.
"This is not done! Woh GS hai...she should go give the recording to VP," Vicky yelled.
It was followed by a bunch of yes, haans and nods.
"Aree...but if we give it...what's the problem?" Swayam asked not really understanding why such a small thing was made so big.
"Why should we do it? It's her responsibility," Nil said.
Rey then looked at Swayam, "Just tell her to do it...anyway it's not our responsibility."
Swayam nodded knowing that they are not going to get anywhere with this. He tried to call Taani then about the recording but she wasn't picking up her phone.
"Guys, mein baad mein de dunga...woh abhi phone nahi pick kar rahi."
To this they all shook their heads and muttered ill things about her.
"Mam, here are the papers and also, Mr. Shekhawat called to ask if you needed anything," Mihir said as she entered the office.
"Thanks Mihir. But tell Tauji that I don't need anything," she quickly signed the papers and headed back to the college.
She entered the rehearsal hall taking a deep breath, knowing what she was about to say was going to make the gang burst.
The gang stopped rehearsing as soon as they felt her presence.
"Lo and behold...aa gayi maharani," Vicky muttered in a not-so-soft voice.
"I need to talk to Sharon if you all don't mind," Taani stated firmly not wanting anymore drama.
Sharon looked confused, "Kya baat hai Taani?"
"Hmm...can we talk alone...I...I don't know how to put this."
Rey stepped forward understanding that it was something important because Taani was fumbling with her words, "Tumhe jo kehna hai sabke samne kaho."
She bit her bottom lips contemplating but said it anyway, "VP sir decided to reappoint the whole Student Council. So Sharon, Bhai and Aashi will be replaced by someone else."
A commotion took place as everyone started cursing and demanding why such measures were taking place.
"WHAT THE HELL!" Sharon yelled, "How can they do that?!"
"None of you attended the previous meetings nor did you all hand in the reports so he just made the decision," Taani stated.
Vicky then turned to her and pointed a finger, "I'm sure yeh sab tumhara kiya dhara hai."
Taani rolled her eyes at the baseless accusation.
"I know...you were just jealous that Sharon held more power," Rinni claimed from behind Vicky.
She felt her heart burning due to anger and pain but she kept it inside her.
"Think whatever you guys want to...I don't care." With that she turned around and walked out of the hell hole.
The tears dripped down continuously as she drove towards home, never in her life had she imagined such accusations to fall on her. She could not survive this any longer.
As soon as Taani reached home she called her dearest Tauji and talked to him of her new decision. Rishi Shekhawat on the other hand was shocked with whatever Taani had just told him. He was trying to convince her otherwise but she refused to listen to him. He also couldn't force her as she was the apple of his eyes and everything she wanted he would give.
"Theek hai, I will arrange for all that you have asked for but Taani, when will you tell Swayam?"
"Don't worry, after NDC I will tell him and everyone else as well."
On that note, they bid each other goodbye and Taani fell asleep.
-Tell me how it is guys. I really needed to pen this down because lately I have been thinking about TR way too much! This story is a bit different from the show because here Taani didn't lie or pretend to be the sixth dancer. There is also no Shivam drama that happened or her entering the college as a Rey fan. She came in normally and Rey started liking her. It was all normal. There will be a leap coming in another 3-4 chapters. -
