Mahabharata and Kasam Se
Since we are all speculating about various scenarios these days, I figured I will give you some more things to discuss. In another post by Pri, Sonia Di and Pri discussed a scene from Mahabharata and this got me thinking.
Sangs, Krish, Sajani and Bavie encouraged me to start this thread so want to thank them all.
Please do realize these are my and only my thoughts and my interpretation of the Mahabharata….and I am just trying to draw parallels and am trying to create scenarios using what happened in Mahabharata and KS so far.
For this discussion I am assuming Bani as Arjun. I know Mahabharata was about Pandavas vs. Kauravas but for KS purposes it is Bani vs. the rest.
Note: For some characters I have two possible matches in Mahabharata...this is because I am not sure which way the creatives will go...
Pia – Duryodhana
Duryodhana was know to be a just brother (at least to his own brothers). However, the other brothers i.e. Pandavas he was never nice. Maybe as kids a little bit.
The reason I would compare them is because right now I consider her as the main villain in Arjun's life. To me she is the main reason why Bani is not happy, just how Duryodhana made the Pandavas life hell.
Duryodhana made Arjun go through vanvas…Pia did the same for Bani. Duryodhana on every opportunity caused pain to Pandavas….so did Pia. Basically, Pia is the face of the enemy Bani faces (similar to Duryodhana…who was not the real enemy…details coming up)
Eventually I see a similar end for Pia…one where she will be wishing and praying to die asap… repenting her mistakes and waiting for her death.
Jigs – Ashwathama
I was initially going to discuss Jigs as being Duryodhana…but then changed my mind…I prefer Ashwathama
Ashwathama was Dronacharaya's son. He was always jealous of Arjun, since Dron had a special liking for Arjun and he resented that. Our Jigs is similar. Before the advent of Bani, she was close to Jai. But with Bani, it changed and on every step she tried to get Bani out of the way.
Ashwathama joined Duryodhana against the Pandavas for this reason (partly). He played dirty politics and tried to kill young Parikshit in her mother's womb. Anyone remember KW 1 died in Bani's womb???
Another thing about Ashwathama was his Mani where lied his strength….I see this as Jigs strength in her sons first Ranveer and then Sahil.
Ashwathama lost the mani for trying to kill Parikshit, Jigs lost her sons eventually.
Parishkit came back to life; Krishna came back to life too…this time with a brother in tow.
Karuna – Yuyutsu
Yuyutsu – the only Kaurava (son of Dhritarashtra from a maid) who fought with the Pandavas. He was on the Kaurava side, due to his blood relation, but before the onset of the war on Yudhisthir's invitation he joined the Pandavas
He was the only Kaurava to survive the war.
The reason I have Karuna in this role is, since her introduction she was shown to be the good sister of Jai…the one who supported him and Bani. For a silly enough reason she joined Pia and Jigs. Maybe, she will repent and join Bani in her final battle.
Karuna – Shakuni
According to me, the real villain in Mahabharata is Shakuni. He not only wanted to destroy the Pandavas but also the Kauravas. He just used the two parties against each other.
Shakuni's family was killed by Bhishma (in our case Masi, the head of the family) and his sister, Gandhari was forced to marry the blind Dhritarashtra and hence he wanted to end the gene pool of Gandhari and Dhritarashtra (basically Bhishma, hence the Pandavas too)
He instigated/ blackmailed and did everything in his power to create issues between the Kauravas and Pandavas.
If Karuna is the master-mind, and was seriously wronged by Masi (and Jai supported Masi and not her) she could be Shakuni. She could be the one who was behind ONS and everything that followed.
This remains to be seen. The creatives can go either way with this character.
AD - Krishna
During the war, Arjun found himself week on a number of occasions. This was when Krishna gave him the strength. Even though Shakuni made Duryodhana start the war, the entire war was played on Krishna's rules (Remember what Barbaric said when asked who killed the most in the war… and his response was he only saw Krishna and his Sudarshan Chakra at work)
I can see AD in this role, if he is truly being only Bani's mentor and at the same time getting rid of the dirt and scum.
I know a lot of you do not agree since AD is a grey character, but lets not forget so was Krishna. Krishna on purpose had created a lot of situations that led to the final war.
AD – Shakuni
Please refer to my notes above about Shakuni.
Again, here I refer to AD as the master mind of the war. But this time he is all black. Someone who did not care about the pawns he used or the means he used. He just wanted to destroy the whole Kaurava and Pandava gene pool.
Another important thing about Shakuni was that he never fought in the front line. He was always in the backend of the things.
JW – Dhritarashtra
Now many of you will not like this analogy…but hear me out.
Dhritarashtra was a strong man. Vyasa had given him the boon of possessing the strength of a hundred thousand elephants. He never willingly wanted to be unjust to Pandavas, but his love for his sons made him a puppet in their hands.
(By the above I am not implying his love for Pia….but my point is that his love became his weakness)
Duryodhana time and again blackmailed Dhritarashtra to give into him.
In KS we have witnessed Jai being blackmailed by Pia time and again. Also, in the end we saw how his love (for his wife) caused his ultimate downfall.
JW – Bhima
Bhima is by far my most favorite character in the entire story. He was the one person who alone could have been the downfall of the Kaurava, unfortunately with Krishna's preference of Arjun, Bhima never got his due credit.
In the final war, he was the one who caused maximum destruction. Even through out the struggle of the Pandavas he was the strongest (physically and mentally). The one who took action before thinking things out.
The reason I want to use this analogy for Jai is because, there is a lot of potential with this character. Jai has a few times acted before thinking.
And if the creatives decide, Jai can be the ultimate hero of this war, even though Bani may be in the front line.
(note: this in no way should be taken as a dig on our beloved characters physical form...please...I beg of u)
Others:
Other characters like Rano, Ranveer, Aditya, Dadi, Masi, etc. can also be given some role. However, I feel that the story focuses on these six characters right now and so I decided to analyze them.
Let me know your thoughts and ideas.
