Govinda doesn't approve of Kashmera

The doting uncle has been advising nephew Krishna to be wary of his current girlfriend

Kashmera Shah may have found love again in Govinda's nephew Krishna, but the romance doesn't seem to have gone down well with her lover's family. Sources say that at a recent family gathering, Govinda wasn't thrilled to see Kashmera in attendance.

A source reveals, "Govinda doesn't approve of Kashmera. He wants Krishna to concentrate on his film career and has been advising him on being wary of Kash. Also, the six-year age difference between them hasn't helped matters."

An eyewitness at the gathering also remarks that Kashmera's choice of clothes was nothing short of revealing, adding to the family's embarrassment.

Social grace

When asked about the incident, Govinda says, "I am nobody to approve or disapprove of Krishna's relationships. Mujhe kisi ki mohabbat se aitraaz nahin hai.

But yes, I tell my children and nephews and nieces only one thing – behave in a socially acceptable manner and don't hurt anyone for your benefit. At the family function,Krishna introduced Kashmera as a 'good friend', so I said, 'God bless you.

Achche dost hai to achche dost raho'. If it becomes more than that, uski zimmedari bhi nibhani chahiye."

Did he disapprove of Kashmera's dress? "It's not true. I just want that people in my family should behave in a socially responsible manner."

Good intentions

Krishna says that though initially his family was opposed to his relationship with Kashmera, they have now reconciled themselves to the fact. "Initially, there were problems and my father was very upset.

My family didn't like the fact that she was already married and thought I was ruining her relationship.

The only two people I confided in about my relationship were my cousin Kirtiji's son Dumpy and my sister Aarti.

Then Chi Chi uncle asked me to invite her for his birthday party (December 21) and that's when Kash met my family for the first time," he says.

Today, Krishna's family knows that his intentions are good and that Kashmera is a positive force in his life.

"Kash has always been well-behaved and respectful of my family, and wears only salwar kameezs at family events. Kash and I had invited Chi Chi uncle for the premiere of My Bollywood Bride, but he declined as he had to go to Delhi."

Playing dress up

Meanwhile, Kashmera denies meeting Govinda at any family event recently. "I never dress up badly whenever I meet his family. I dress up in jeans and a shirt. Krishna has met my family too. I wouldn't wear anything objectionable," she says.
