The first blossom short film festival event initiated by Wiz Studio scheduled on the 8th of March was successfully concluded. The festival that marked a new beginning of rising talents saw many artists getting together to enjoy a feast of short films. The Festival was pushed by a Classic short film making competition that was judged by the Actress Rashi Mal (Gauri from Paanch' fame).The Results were soon announced and the top spot for the best film went to Mayank Singh from New Delhi for his movie Irony'. It was based on Deforestation. The Second prize went to Nightmares by Abhishek Nishad and the third went to Aniket Pujari for his film I am not a beggar' respectively.
The honorable Judge of the competition Rashi Mal couldn't make it to the event because of her tight shooting schedule but did manage to send a Video Message which was played couple of times during the whole event, and reportedly sent many waves of Joy around the audiences. Rashi through her message congratulated the winners and also motivated the other entrants who couldn't be selected. Varun Mehta, the owner of Wiz Studio and executive member of SAID, also launched the first look of his upcoming short film My Last Visions' in a grand style. Mr Subhash Siddhu (President) and Mr Madan Pania from the Society for animation in Delhi (SAID) graced the event and announced AGAFA' (Annual Graphics and Animation Film Awards) 2014 at the event. Some of the best animated Films from their previous AGAFA event were also screened.
On the eve of International Women's Day, Mrs Kalplata Juhi Chandrahas, an eminent personality in the field of education, a creative writer, and a social worker (She is also better known as the Principal of Neehar Meera Senior Secondary School) also participated in the event and shared some words of wisdom on the occasion. A Special Campaign Video Take a Stand' that was made by Varun Mehta himself was played during the event.
Many Eminent writers, poets and artists were present at the festival. The Faculty (Mr Sandeep Sharma) and Mr Lokesh Sharma from Arena Animation Institute also made it at the event along with their students. The Students Swaley Ansari and Rehan Khan screened their Animation films which were very well received. Varun announced for Blossom Short Film Festival 2' to be scheduled next year.
