| Changing Equations: Amitabh Bachchan with Aadesh Shrivastav | According to sources, Amitabh Bachchan had asked music composer Aadesh Shrivastav to take charge of the music at AbhiAsh's sangeet (held at Prateeksha last Friday), but later Karan Johar convinced Amitabh that Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy would be a better choice. Needless to say, this left Aadesh stunned. What's more, Aadesh wasn't even invited for the wedding and this came as a big blow to Aadesh, who looks up to Amitabh as a mentor (he had recommended Shrivastav for films like Baghban and Babul).
A source close to Aadesh, says, "If Karan hadn't intervened, Aadesh would have held centrestage despite his professional commitments abroad."
Karan's karam
Karan had worked with Aadesh in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, but thereafter signed Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for subsequent films.
Aadesh's secretary Jagdish admits, "If Amitabh had told Aadesh to organise the music for the sangeet, he would have definitely kept his work in the US aside and flown down to Mumbai."
However, Aadesh, who is currently in the US cutting an album, says, "I have been here for the last four weeks, so there was no way I could attend Abhishek's wedding.
As for whether Mr Bachchan invited me or not, I don't know. I am not using my Mumbai number presently."
Of course, when we called up Aadesh's Mumbai cell number he promptly answered the call. Later, when we ask Shankar if they were a last minute addition to the sangeet, he says, "No, we weren't a last minute addition.
We were told about the sangeet party a month ago."
And who called them up for that? The Bachchans? The Rais? "No. Karan Johar did."
Need we say more?
