Shahid's parents never divorce because of a third person. Supriya came much later in his father's life. Shahid then lived with his mother and stepfather, also the reason for his close relationship with his brother. - Shahid used to use his stepfather's surname back in school before he started his acting carrer but when his mother divorced again and married for the third time, he took back his biological father's name. - He still uses his stepfather's surname in his passport, Shahid Khattar.
This may explain his closeness to whole his family .. or maybe a lot of confusion, poor guy :D hahah
