hmm really? I actually HAVE worn paki clothes to skool more than once and I live in the US...I went to a public skool with all sorts of ppl who probably didn't like desi all that much. But i wore teh clothes cuz i wanted to for some reason. 😆
Most of the reactions was indifferent and i got a couple of compliments...no one laughed

It really depends on how you carry yourself in public not abt wht you wear. Wear it with confidence and everyone will respect you (hopefully 😊 )

as im typing i am wearing ma paskitani salwar kameez (bought frm pakistan) and ive jus come bck frm university...during my high skool years bcoz alot of people where im from are pakistani dey allow us 2 wear salwar kameez in school colours..or a pinafore wid salwar...i always in summer wear salwar kameez..but in winter i have 2 admit i cnt stay away frm jeans..
i think we can represent pakistan by actully celebrating 14th august properly in the countries we live in..we most likely need 2 make people aware of the differences btween pakistanis and indians...onli 2day sum1 asked do i worsip sachin tendulkar like da rest of ma indian people do 😆 and i think pakistani people hu own resturants...they call them indian cusine....but they should call it pakistani cuisine...bcoz im sure they nva learnt 2 cook them dishes on the menu in india.. 😕
i can go on and on and on..of ways 2 represnt....one thing that shdnt b dne is hiring a limo on eid and sticking out the pakistani flag out the window...(thats jus embarsing) 😆

i think by wearing pakistani clothing especially females...we show ourselves as pakistanis...othawise we blend in with the rest of asian culture(nt dat its wrong)...and people cnt tell if where pakistani or not...we should wear our traditional dress and be proud of it...😳

yeah i am indian and i have many paki friends, when i was in my undergrad school, we always had a day every week when we would wear salwar kameez. We never felt bad about it and infact many Americans appreciated it. Then i didnt wear it during my med school because it was little more professional degree...but there is no shame in wearing those.......i love iur attires....

😆 i also wear paki clothes at skool 😆 since i was in class 7...but here in germany it isnt common to wear paki clothes ...i lost all my friends because of my clothes they just hated them 😕 ...and instead im wearing them because i feel more comfortable in them then in jeans...but now (in class 10) they started to talk to me again but its tooo late now 😡 😡 !! some of my german classmates are just against my style and dont want to talk to me(they just find it embarassing) but (allah ka shukr hai)i found some new friends who love my clothes 😊

awww
bless you

well the school i attend at the moment is what i would call ideal hell for the average pakistani

firstly it is on the outskirts of a council estate, in oanother words racist area...
secondly due to it being on the edge of an council/racsist estate, no doubt there are many undignified, ill mannered, arrogant, rude and quite literally (censored) whites who take one looka t you n if your not white opoint u as being dirt.

its like spot the asian in school, the ratio is 95% to 5% ...and even now is lowering.

the only reason i am there still is because i only have a single yr left then im out of the hell hole. and because previously i underwent many operations at that school was the only school in my area with the correct accessibilty. accessibility i never used as i was home schooled..(my luck hey!..lol)

back on topic..on non-uniform day though my heart would schreech id feel alot more comfy n free to kve in my shalwar kameez i would opt for combats or loose sort of pants n kurtas...thats the best part about kurtas they can blend really well with both dress sense!

but i at the end of the day have gained sum friends who appreiciate the fact that i am asian and i will dress lil differently...(thanks to allah!)

whilst im at home i realx in my s n k n wen im outside again the same shalwar kameez it is!

lol

basically i prefer shalwar kameez in general over jeans n teeshirts...

what about you guys?
