Author's note: This can be considered a sequel to my other OS: Farak Padta Hai which ended in the two starting a relationship. So I just couldn't stop myself from imagining what it'd be like, for these two to finally be in a relationship?

The Girlfriend-Boyfriend Life

"Kitna time lagaogi?" He yelled into the bathroom. They'd been living together in the a short while since that life-changing night, Kaustagi was nice enough to switch rooms with him. But then again, she got to be with Jignesh so it was a win-win situation. But despite the time they had begun to spend with each other, he still wasn't used to the dynamics of a relationship. But who could blame him, he didn't really care about girls or ever found himself attracted to anyone before her.

No one affected him like she did.

"Oye hero, kahan kho gaye?" she walked out fixing her earrings. She looked beautiful in her single shoulder red dress.

He answered with a kiss, "You look beautiful," he told her, his lips brushed past her as he spoke. She took a step back and checked his dapper suit out, "Tum bhi teekh hi lag rahe ho," she teased. (Sanyukta's Dress, Randhir's Suit)

"Acha?"

"Mhmm," she answered playfully before she broke into a laugh.

"You know bina baat pe hasne wale ko paagal kehte hai,"

"Bina baat ki nahi," she brought him in front of a mirror and he saw that almost all of her lipstick has smeared onto her face.

"I forgot you were wearing lipstick, I'm still new to this whole relationship thing."

"Aw you're so cute when you're confused. Don't worry, I'm also learning at the same pace as you. I should've thought it through before putting the lipstick on. Aage se, I'll use lip-stains."

"Or you can just come as is, it's not the lipstick, or the hair, or even the dress, it's your smile that makes you look like a million bucks every time you walk by."

She blushed. He loved the effect he had on her. "Bas bas, itna sweetly baat karna tumhe suit nahi karta."

"Toh mujhe kya suit karta hai," he pulled her waist closer to him.

"Bathroom."

"What?"

"Go wash your face Randhir!" she pushed him into the bathroom knowing they would never make it to the restaurant on time if she didn't.

"You guys are so cute!" Kostauki squeeled from the door.

"Kostauki tum yahan kya kar rahi ho! Sharm nahi ati!" Sanyukta laughed and shooed her away, and then smiled against the door. He was kinda cute. She teased him, even in her thoughts..

After successfully sneaking past the warden and lurking watchmen, they finally made it to the restaurant. It was a fancy Punjabi restaurant. Yes, Punjabi, not Italian, French, or Spanish but Punjabi. "Why couldn't our Punjabi restaurants be fancy?" she had once argued with him, "I'll only go out on a date if you find a fancy Punjabi restaurant," she had challenged.

He loved how their equation hadn't changed drastically after they had gotten together. They still fought, and argued, and challenged, but at the end of the day acknowledged that they completed each other.

"I must say Mr. Shekhawat I'm impressed," she noted the beauty of the restaurant.

"Jo mujhe karna hota hai, woh main karke hi rehta hoon," he gloated, "Especially if it has to do with you," he completed.

She smiled, "You will be awarded for this victory very soon my young grasshopper," she mocked a wise voice.

"With what?"

"It's a surprise!" She teased.

"Sanyukta tell me now!"

"Stop acting like an impatient child and read the menu," she laughed.

"I'm not acting like an impatient child," he retaliated and forced his eyes down the menu.

"So Malai Kofta, Paneer Makhani, and some naans?" The waiter asked.

"Yeah but make sure not to put too much butter on his, he doesn't really like it," she instructed. He broke out into a foolish smile. She could be out changing the world right now, but instead in this moment, her priority was making sure his naans were to his liking. And to be quite honest, it made him feel very special.

"Anything to drink?"

"Red wine," he answered.

He felt as though she wanted to say something but didn't. "Kya hua?"

"Kuch nahi?"

"Really Farzi? Do you really think I'm someone who'll fall prey to your 'kuch nahi'? Kya hua batao?"

"It's just that I don't like red wine, I prefer champagne." She confessed, her eyes on the ground beneath.

"That's it? Why didn't you say so before?"

"I don't know, I don't know the rules of a relationship, and I didn't want to tell you because I know you like red wine quite a lot."

"Listen here ok," he reached for her hands across the table, "Never ever worry about telling me anything, if I end up judging you then that'd be a failure on my side as a companion. So promise me tum aisi stupid harkat phirse nahi karogi,"

She looked up, beaming with happiness before she crossed her arms and reverted to her old self, "Only if you promise not to order anything without consulting me first! It's your fault!"

"But...red wine is a common preference. How was I supposed to know? It's your fault!"

"Your fault!"

"Your fault!" he playfully bickered back.

"Sir apki red wine," the waiter interrupted them.

"Actually," he was about to send one of the glasses away only to be cut off by her voice.

"Mmm, this is actually so good! Thanks!" she sent off the waiter only be given a questioning look by Randhir.

"We'll have champagne next time," she raised her glass, "To us."

"To us," he repeated. He felt like the luckiest man on earth.

They snuck back in to their room, almost being caught by two professors who really needed to get a life beyond the walls of this college.

As soon as she shut the door, he started asking for his gift.

"Sabr karo baalike, sabr karo. Sabr ka phal meeta hota hai." She left him in turmoil and began to remove those long waterfall earrings. "Ouch!" she winced as he helped her unhook the necklace.

They'd become comfortable enough to just do these things for each other without an invitation. It was second nature.

She was loosening his tie for him when she felt him unzip the back of her dress. It wasn't him unzipping the dress that caused her to reach, rather it was him sliding his fingers underneath the dress that caused her eyes to widen.

"Aaj nahi, I'm tired Randhir," she whined as she rested her head against his chest.

"I know," he simply stated and she realized that he was just massaging her back for her. She could have spent a lifetime there in his arms, it was blissful.

"Dhoka mat khana, main sirf apne gift ke liye kar raha hoon," he caressed the top of her head with his cheeks.

"Haan of course," she agreed sarcastically.

It was strange how the perfect person could be so close sometimes, it just took some courage and a little bit of love to turn life into an enchanting dream.

After she was almost lulled into a sleep state in his arms, she remembered to speak. "You're gift, it's in the drawer by our bed."

"My side or your side?"

"My side," she replied and finally let him go so he could see his gift. She finished removing the rest of the heavy duty dress and let go of the clip in her hair. Aah, that felt better.

She was too excited to see his reaction, that she didn't bother changing into anything. It's not like he hadn't seen her in the black bra before.

He was unwrapping the gift when she trudged over the bed and wrapped her arms around him from behind, her hair fell around his face forming a curtain before she gave him a quick peck on his forehead.

He opened the box to find a screwdriver with his name etched on the side, in a red velvet box.

"Do you like it?" She asked curious, pecking his cheeks every so often.

"Is that even a question?" he brought her around so that her legs were locked behind his back and her eyes in front of his. "I love it Sanyu, it means a lot to me."

"I know," she smiled, "Isse apne paas hamesha rakhna. With this, I wanted to say, to you Mr. Randhir Shekhawat, that I, Ms. Sanyukta Agarwal accept that I love you," she finally said the three words.

He caressed her soft skin, her simple gestures made him wonder sometimes, it made him wonder how he ended up with a girl like her, what he ever did to deserve her.

"I love you too," repeated to her before they crashed softly and carelessly, into the bed.

What to say ? The punjabi restaurant was nice. Champagne and Red Wine, didn't thought that they like this kind of stuff. Rooms exchange, idea was good but where is Parth ? The last part, massaging her back, someone massage me too. Screw driver, what a great gift. And the three words, she said it. They don't need anything to know what one has to say. It can be seen in their eyes. Thanks for the PM
