'Durga' looking too young unnecessarily!

Disclaimer: I'd like to make it explicitly clear that this post is not intended to bash nor praise any character and/or actor. Rather, I'd like to make a general observation.

There's no denying that Prachi Desai is one of the youngest (if not the only) onscreen "bahu" and mother. Touchwood, she comes across as a very mature person and has simply infused life into BANI making the character simple and classy (albeit her age).

The characteristics/personality of the character notwithstanding, am I the only one who thinks that this "make-over" (in terms of appearance) into "Durga" is noticeably YOUNG???? 😕 Please note that I'm not talking about the TRAITS of the character but ONLY the styling/appearance of "Durga". She's re-named DURGA not DUGGOOO! This "new look" makes her look terribly young!

Lurkers, surely the Kasamh Se stylist could have come up with a better "new" look than making this woman who's supposed to be jaded and out for revenge looking like a girl attending a Sweet 16 Birthday Party! This is a woman who is coming back in FIGHTING mode, if the look isn't there, it simply will not work!!

What happened to Sarees???????????? Or any such "sophisticated" clothes as opposed to this girlyish gear??? PD is naturally beautiful and simple (touchwood and it's only my opinion) so why not keep the straight hair or chop it into layers???? (Just a suggestion!) My opinion is that those damm gurls make her look unusually younger!

Rani, I made the same observation yst and made a post regarding it. Yes, she looks so young, in the sense, the maturity of Durga's character does not show. I thought Durga would have a quite a bit of makeover but only her hairstyle is changed. Otherwise, she looks just like Bani – simple and sweet (except for her eyes of course)

Agreed they should have given her a severe business look with some glasses. She look too pretty in pink right now. Also she has to play a mother to 5 year olds and needs to look a little believable. I don't think they can put her in sareer right now because that is too Bani. Maybe after Durga marries JW

Haan Meena, I agree. Navs rightly pointed out that one's hair does not necessarily equate a "make-over." This girlish look makes the character of Durga look disarmingly young though admittedly, PD has done justice to bringing out the characters emotions (touchwood).

As I said in Meenas post, Nim Sood the stylist failed miserably in doing her makeover.

If he couldn't have putten her in sareees as thats to Bani. Then he should have dressed her in buisnness suits or similar in style to AD making her stylist, modern instead of those shalwar kameez and curls that make her look years younger.

i agree...she does look terribly young, in fact too young to be given the look of a mother of 5 year olds...

I simply think that she will stay like that for a while...but after she comes and meet the kids in WM maybe they will give her new look, much older one at that..

Maybe you're right but this definetly wasn't the "new" Bani I was expecting. I personally feel that they made her look younger than she appeared before.

Bobo completely agree with you, watched the episode today and she looks all of 14. At least you are kind enough to say 16. I don't know what the kreatives were thinking, to make her look 14 and then pair with a man who is 25 yrs her senior and looks it. The age difference is very apparent.

Haan Faru. Didn't she look "older" before???????? I understand attempting to make an older person look younger but here the opposite happened. They made a young person look younger!! 😕

i think her makeover will soon going to happpen and after her makeover only she will meet JW and littile kids
