I feel the two young girls in the show are shown as selfish and self-obsessed to a great extent!!!

Veera

The grown up Veera when she came back to Preetampura was shown extremely self-centered. She was oblivious even to her brother's love. The only thing she could see was her studies, her dreams, her future life and her Karan... Not even once she tried to understand the feelings of her elder brother who would die for her!!!!!

1) The scene which proved that for me was when Veera was angry with Ranvi for misunderstanding Karan... She did not even think twice why her brother was asking her to be cautious??? Instead she was stuck with singing praises for Karan...

2) The second scene was during Veera-Karan break up. Poor Ranvi was trying all means to get a smile on his little sister's face by bringing the kulfi man and chasing her with her favourite food items... I know she has suffered a heart break and she wanted sometime alone, but they way she behaved with Ranvi was not at all justified... atleast for me!!!!

Gunjan

I used to adore the little Gunjan more than little Veera. She has transformed beyond any trace of the little Gunjan... She also has become self-obsessed beyond imagination. She crushed Ranvi her best friend beyond redemption. I can understand life was not fair to her but you cannot blame the world for that. Despite that if you really wanna blame someone, then blame your Beeji who was unfair to you and to a great extend your Papaji who never stood by you... and to some extend your Veerji for not raising his voice... But no she doesn't wanna do that, she wanna vent out all her anger and frustration on Ranveera... Gosh girl channelise your anger!!! Now she has reached in this self-destructive mode also...

Now coming to the characterization of girls I think it was smart on the part to show the selfishness in them... I am a girl myself, but sometimes I can agree that I have seen girls including me being more selfish than men when it comes to relationships... The real mode in which they are utterly selfless is only being a "Mother"... But in the show Bansuri has put that theory also into test...

It was just a small analysis that I felt, I do not intend to hurt anyone...

I am not going to write about You-Know-Who, but it's absolutely unfair to compare Veera with She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Veera is self-centred and living in a oblivion and to a large extent Ranvi is responsible for it. He was the one who would keep her in dark about all the sufferings of his own and family. Veera dreamt of flying high but if you remember, in all her dreams, her family was a part of it.. Veera always wanted to go and settle in abroad along with her family unlike You-Know-Who who would only dream about how to leave the pind and family and friends forever. This is why Veera never went to England because her Veerji mattered more to her.
Veera is a believable and relatable character. Her selfishness isn't destructive like The-Dark-Lady.

I don't find Veera selfish. She's a normal girl with hopes and dreams. What's wrong in having them?
About the time when Ranvi tried to cheer her up, justified or not, that would have been my reaction also. Sometimes people just need to be left alone.

And just because you scream at someone once it dosen't make you selfish. It makes you human.

When was she angry at Ranvi for criticising Karan? 😕

Veera

The grown up Veera when she came back to Preetampura was shown extremely self-centered. She was oblivious even to her brother's love. The only thing she could see was her studies, her dreams, her future life and her Karan... Not even once she tried to understand the feelings of her elder brother who would die for her!!!!!

Well what's wrong in thinking about your future? Veera is a head-strong girl who is educated and If she wants t fulfill her dreams or think about her future.. I really don't understand what the problem is especially when no one has given her a reason not to.

1) The scene which proved that for me was when Veera was angry with Ranvi for misunderstanding Karan... She did not even think twice why her brother was asking her to be cautious??? Instead she was stuck with singing praises for Karan...

Wasn't it Ranvi's duty to sit her down and talk to her? Veera was immature during that time. When you've known a person for a long time.. I doubt 2 words of wisdom would work when someone is actually saying something against someone you have feelings for and let's face it Ranvi isn't that effective.

I felt it was justified for me because that time she suffered a heartbreak and needed time alone.. Ranvi wasn't giving her space and kept on bringing kulfis and etc for her. I do see his reason but she just suffered a heartbreak just yesterday and You don't think she needs time to get over it? Kulfis would automatically bring her back to herself? Ranvi himself is suffering a heartbreak right now.. should Veera bring kulfis for him to get over Gunjan?
