It's was not a great episode, but this was to spice up the proceedings instead of just showing luks-wala-love and romance alone.
I had told this in another thread : Jalal doesn't intend to create ego clash between Jo and Ruq. This is his way of making his 2 important women in his life to make them understand. Jodha should not be too humble and give up her rights as a Begum, he wants her to assert her rights and love him too.
For Ruqaiyya - she needs to learn a lesson that her "audhaism" will work only as long as she is friendly and understanding. Not by misusing authority. She should show care and generosity. She should accept other begums and wives of the Shahenshah equally and graciously.
Jalal doesn't want to rile them up, but, he doesn't want this harem problems to surface repeatedly and cause headaches to him.
