Apparently you were very happy with the generation leap in Jeete Hai Jiske Liiye?

Yes. That's because I did not have to grey my hair or wear glasses to look old. Instead, I just had to grow my hair and tie it in a braid!

A plait made you go 20 years fast forward?

Tarun is a flamboyant character. He loves to be noticed. So when the leap happened, it was natural that Tarun would be up to something to get talked about. Deeya and Tony Singh (producers of the show) conceived the look and I added my bit to it. And it looked very cool.

Has Tarun's personality changed with the leap?

He still remains a freeloader and lives off the Dhanrajgir wealth with his blunt talk. He still has his feminine qualities intact. He speaks in a very thin voice and uses a lot of hand gestures, so people are still wondering whether he is a gay or not. But his dressing style has sobered a bit — instead of a cowboy appearance there is a tuxedo now.

So is Tarun gay?

He is happily married so there is that mystery element to add to his 'gay or not' question. In fact, his wife Ramona (Maaninee Misshra) loves him. It's just that Tarun is extra friendly, hugging everyone (male and female). So the audience has to keep guessing.

How believable is Tarun?

Extremely believable. There are so many guys out there who are married, have kids but love to dress up flamboyantly and behave effeminately. Perhaps they are trying to send a message across to someone? We'll just have to figure it out!
