Horrifically bad court room drama

It is thoroughly painful to watch the rape trail. I am not sure how it works in India, but it all seems a pathetic fiasco. Unlike in the US, the state prosecutes the accuser and it is his job to find an attorney to defend him, but it appears that the case in India is that both the rapist and the victim have to defend themselves...

Leaving that aside, here is what bewilders me...why didn't Mansi's attorney ask for the phone records for both Mansi, Kinari and Ruank and bring to court what had transpired that night and how this prompted Runak to rape her. They could have bring the phone is as evidence and reveal the phone recording...what a delight that would be to listen to in the court room. Here's hoping there is a writer who has the intelligence to be this creative. The fact that the three of them would be asked about the phone conversations would weaken the case and it is something even Runak's attorney does not know...

Additionally, just because Mansi could not see him in the night, doesn't mean she could not identify her..Mansi's attorney could have done the same and asked her to have Runak and a few others of those men repeat what was said to her and have her pick out the voice...

Additionally, I'd have Mansi disclose what was a distinguishing feature of Runak...if Kinari had intercourse with Runak, she would know this information and if not, then it will show that something happened...

Writers, when your audience is way ahead of you, then you should seriously die of shame.

I would welcome SOME creativity and intelligence...

You shouldn't be watching Indian TV shows, I think.

O Boy...another post blaming the viewer for watching the show rather than trying to hold the creative team accountable and expecting a higher standard product. It's rather frustrating as a viewer to get berated for choosing to watch a show out of interest and our entertainment and expecting an improvement on the product. If you have nothing to reach for, then how can you improve? I will quit watching once I cannot sit through a show...I quit watching the Purvi and Arjun track - it put me to sleep...

The courtroom drama in yesterday's episode was painful to read in the WU much less watch. I know that Mansi would have a tough time proving her case but the way the CVs went about this was ridiculous and completely unrealistic.

In India, I think both parties appoint their own lawyers...
Anyway, it is true the rape storyline was really very poorly handled. Not only that, even when a FIR was finally lodged, Cvs failed to show the immediate actions that are taken by the police trying to gather evidences. They never even showed a doctor examining Manshi...but, this isn't anything new. Same happened in Vandu's case too. The Cvs lack of any empathy or knowledge regarding rape and it's victim, is really appalling...

I find it sickening that Ekta Kapoor uses "rape" as a means to increase TRP. Out of all the thousands of topics, she picks "rape" to keep her show going. All the rape news coming from India lately, this is the last topic the writers should have on their mind.
