Am rather confused as to what Shagun's actual motives are.

She left Raman because she wanted to be with a man who was rich and could give her the lifestyle she wanted. Ashok fits the bill and she is happy with what she got.

What I fail to understand is why she puts up with Ashok's games now? She does seem to have scruples about the wrong doing because she asks him in private why he is doing what he is doing. But next second she goes along with it. She is even willing to put her own children through the wringer for Ashok.

Does Shagun have feelings of guilt about dumping Raman and so goes along with Ashok's plans to suppress them? Or is she afraid in her heart of hearts that Ashok might dump her if she goes against him?

Your views please.

I think Shagun believes in the faulty equation that being coupled is better than being single!!😛 I can't seem to find a reasonable enough explanation for why she puts up with Ashok and his antics! But in her defense, she is absolutely financially dependent on Ashok and reliant on him to meet her materialistic needs. Raman is right when he said Shagun isn't a Bhalla or a Khanna; she doesn't have an identity of her own and she wouldn't be able to go anywhere if she were to leave Ashok or if Ashok were to leave her. Ashok keeps her in the relationship by making false marriage claims to her; Shagun is too afraid that he won't come through if she doesn't play along with Ashok.
