thank gos Aisha's fine n finally discharged
for a moment felt a dead end when the team didn't find the chip
but thank god Sakshi got that
while Aisha's place was searched for the chip
and Arjun's angry outbursts on the team from time to time
were nicely depicted

Chapter 24

Arjun was still thinking with his pen spining and Rathore was speaking with commisioner,when Sakshi came running inside.

'Arjun wo chip mil gaya..'she said smiling cheerfully.

Arjun stood up surprised and Rathore looked at her with the phone on his ear numb.Shree looked up at her shocked and Ayesha looked straight at the chip in her hand.

'mere room mein zameen mein para tha,'she said holding the chip towards them.

Rathore was the first one to compose himself.He came forward and looked at the chip in her hand.He took it and looked closely,

'tumhe kaha mili ye chip?'he asked her still looking at it,

'Kaha na sameer,mere room mein,zameen mein pari hui thi,'

'bewakuffo ki tarah baat maat karo sakshi,zameen mein pari thi aur tumne utha li, tumhe kaise pata ye wahi chip hai?'arjun barked at her before rathore could speak,

'Arjun har koi tumhare jaisa nehi hai,ye wahi chip hai.'sakshi informed sternly looking at Arjun,

Arjun glared at her frustrated and turned his back,

'Ayesha ka room search kiya hai kisine,ye chip bhi tumhare room mein plant kar sakte hai,'he turned back,'it could be a bomb sakshi,tum pagal ho,uthake leke aa gayi,'

'haan,bomb hai isi liye to lai hu, agar marna hai tumhe sath leke marungi,mein akeli kiyu maru?'she retorted back,

'Sakshi har waqt mazak se zindagi nehi chalti aur nahi case solve hota hai,'

'fir tumne apni dukhi wali atma ko bahar la rahe ho?aur haan aisa kuch hai nehi,ye wahi chip hai,ye dekho,'

Sakshi took the chip from sameer and put it on her index finger.She pressed it a bit on the finger and turned her hand.The chip remained on the finger and didnt fall down.

The platic cover side of the chip had a sticky line with tiny pieces of rubber sticking on it.It must have been kept in a place which had some old degraded sticky rubber item like a rubber band.It got stuck with the chip and remained there making the spot on the chip sticky.

Arjun kept looking at the demonstration given by sakshi.He looked at her finger and then the chip.Sakshi kept on talking.

'dekho sameer.Ye usdin casino mein bhi aise hi chipak gaya tha.aur mera hath sticky ho gaya is liye maine rumal mein rakh ke bag mein rakh liya tha aur fir bhool gayi. Subah nikalte waqt jab rumal nikala to ye chip mila aur meine Ayesha to de diya.'

'aur meine jeans mein rakh liya,fir hum nikal gaye,fir ye chip tumhare room mein kaise ayi?'

Arjun snatched the chip from Sakshi surprising her and earned a cheeky smile from her.

'tumhara jeans kaha hai ayesha?'Arjun asked ayesha with a glint in his eyes,indicating an inevitable discovery.

Ayesha went to her room to bring the jeans,while others waited with the chip.Shree was too eager to extract the information from it but owing to the recent dangers lerking around them,they couldnt take a risk without confirming.Sakshi sat down beside shree smiling at him while Arjun and Rathore kept inspecting the chip alternatively.

Ayesha came back with the jeans and arjun took it from her.

'kaunsa pocket Ayesha?'

Ayesha showed the back pocket where she had kept the chip.He inspected the pocket from outside and then to their dismay took his swiss knife and cut the pocket out of the jeans.Except Rathore all others kept looking at him with wide eyes.Sakshi poked Ayesha,

'tera jeans to gaya ayesha,arjun ne uski to baja di..'she told her softly earning a glare from the ever alert arjun.

Rathore kept a stern face at their antics and called arjun,

'kiya kar rahe ho rawte?'

'dekho rathore,dhulne ke baad bhi yaha stickyness abhi bhi hai,aur ye dekho rubber ke pieces,matlab galti se Ayesha pocket mein chip rakhne se pehele hi ye chip yaha pocket ke bahar chipak gaya tha,aur jab wo andar room mein gayi hogi,movement ki wajah se waha gir gayi,'

'lekin itne yakeen se kaise kehe sakte hai sir?'ayesha asked arjun,

'is chip mein,is rubber pieces pe dust jama hua hai,aur ye tab ho sakta hai,jab ye kahi para hua ho,kisine uthaya bhi nehi,'

'uthata kaise?bed ke niche chup gaya tha,mere paise girke bed ke niche chala gaya.Jab mein wo uthane gayi tab mujhe ye mila,'

'tum kitni laparwa ho sakshi?paise bhi nehi samhalte tumse?'Arjun shouted at her again,

'arjun agar mein careful hoti to ye chip nehi milta,samjhe ya fir samjhau,'she replied winking at Rathore,who took the chip and gave it to shree,while arjun glared at her and turned his back.

'shree dekho chip mein kiya hai,'rathore ordered shree,

Shree took the chip and started working with it.To everyone's relief there was some encrypted data in that chip.

'sir give me some time,data is encrypted and coded,i need to work on it,'shree informed rathore,

'okay,make it fast shree,'

'yes sir,'

Shree took the laptop and went to chotu's room.While others sat down to discuss the plan for Anurag's capture.

Chotu's informer,who was following Anurag from the beginning, had not yet confirmed about Anurag leaving for dubai next day but he had surely informed that Anurag would be going to the Airport next day.He had hired a cab for the purpose.He would be leaving at around 8 in the evening for his destination.

All of them sat down thinking when Sakshi brought in coffee for everyone.All took their cup.Arjun was about to take his but she kept the tray on the table and left with her own mug.Arjun was now more irritated at her gesture but ignored it for then.He started speaking rotating his pen.

'hume usse pakarna hoga Rathore warna Dixit ko shaq ho jayega,'

'haan aur shayad usse bhi kuch pata ho,usdin dock pe bhi usse dekha gaya tha,kuch to pata
hoga usse,aur wo tattoo bhi uske shoulder pe kaise aya?,'Ayesha said,

'right lekin achanak dixit hume ye information kiyu dega?kuch to choot raha hai rathore,'

'choot to bohot kuch raha hai rawte,lekin pata kaise lagayenge wo chupa kiya raha hai?'rathore said thoughtfully,

'hume shree ka wait karna hoga rathore,chip mein kuch to hai jo wo nehi chahate humare hath aye,'

'lekin hamare pas to itna time nehi hai rawte,hume dixit ka kuch karna hoga,'

Everyone was confused how to proceed with the case when chotu's informer called again.He informed about some activities going on at a suburb areas 15 kms from goa. Some huge consignments and packed boxes were transfered there a few days back.
Rathore stood up.

'rawte aur ayesha,tumlog dixit ke sath airport mein anurag ko pakrenge.mein and Chotu us area ki khabar lete hai,kuch to milega waha.Chotu tum ek special backup force arrange karo hum dixit ko ye information nehi bata sakte,mein order forward karta hu,tumhe problem nehi hogi,per haan chotu, dixit ko pata nehi chalna chahiye.aur ye back up force ready rahegi humare signal milte hi waha hona chahiye,taki dixit ke planted logo ko pata na chale.'

'hum abhi chal sakte hai sir,unhe pata nehi hoga,'chotu said,

'nehi chotu,agar dixit anurag ki plight kal plan kar raha hai,matlab kal unka kuch bara kam hai,aur wo hume busy rakhna chahta hai.agar aj gaye to use shaq ho jayega,waise bhi uske informers is hotel mein bhi hai.tum arrange karo,aur dhyan se chotu,ye puri jagah dixit ke nazaro ke under hai,shayad tumhe bhi koi follow kare,'Arjun instructed,

'Sir,'chotu said and left the room for the arrangement,

'aur mein?'sakshi asked confused,

'tum yahi rahogi,bohot kam kar liya,ab shree ki help karo chip decode karne mein,'Arjun ordered her before rathore could open his mouth.

Sakshi looked towards Rathore who nodded in agreement.Sakshi glared at Arjun and muttered to herself 'iska badla to mein zaroor lungi ruk jao rawte ke bache.'

She was about to speak up more when shree called ayesha informing them that dixit has arrived in the hotel.The expressions on everyone's face changed from anger to disgust and then an usual blank.

The two acps picked up their coffee and sat on the sofa discussing on the case,ayesha and sakshi remained silent waiting for the storm to arise.

They heard footsteps but remained aloof and busy with their discussion.After a few seconds there was a small knock on the door and Dixit stepped in.Rathore looked up at him with his usual calmness,while Arjun turned around to avoid facing him.Dixit stood in front of Rathore and saluted him.

'sorry sir,wo ek case mein busy ho gaya tha,'dixit said while sitting on a single sofa,

'Ayesha kaisi ho?kab discharge hui?sorry meri addmio ki laparwahi ki wajah se tumhe takleef hui,'dixit told ayesha looking at her,

'thik hu sir,bas aj hi discharge hui hu,'she replied him hiding her irritation,

'Ab kam ki baat kare?tumhe anurag ke bare mein aur kiya pata chala?'Arjun took over,while rathore kept looking at him.

'haan sir,Anurag kal raat dubai ja raha hai,kisi deal ke silsiley mein,hume use pakar lena chahiye,'

'tumhe ye baat kaise pata chala?'Rathore asked him,

'Sir,as you instructed meine apne kuch aadmi uske piche rakha tha,unhone information di hai,'

'to ab tak kaise kuch...'Sakshi started but was cut by Arjun's glare,

'thik hai,hum kal ke liye plan kar lete hai,'Arjun said looking at sakshi and then back at him,

'Jee sir,meine back up force ko already inform kar diya hai,they will be at the airport in the right time.Hume bohot sabdhani se usse pakarna hoga,usse pata lag gaya to bohot muskil ho jayegi,'

'hmm hum waha as passengers jayenge,dixit tum apne kuch admi civil dress mein waha post kardo,they can keep an eye on his movements.Agar wo koi deal ke liye ja raha hai,he should have something with him,we need to confiscate that.Airport security ko uska ek photo bhej do.Inform them and instruct them for a thorough check.'rathore informed,

'lekin uske sath aur bhi aadmi ho sakte hai aur security mein koi agar uske sath ho to,'sakshi asked,

'thats the reason why we would be there sakshi,'Arjun informed and turned towards Rathore,

'Rathore commisioner sir ko bhi inform karo,we have to catch him,hume authorities chahiye,'

'I have already taken care of that rawte,dixit you go ahead,kal raat anurag humare giraft mein hona chahiye,we cant spare him,he is our only evidence now,'rathore ordered in his usual authorative tone,

'right sir,I will keep you informed and I will meet you at the airport tomorrow,'

'nehi tum back up force ke sath,hamare signal ka wait karoge,and take care ki sab usual lage,no extra force should be visible,'

'lekin sir mein ap logo ke sath..'dixit asked confused,

'dixit,we need someone outside,agar plan mein garbar hoti hai aur wo bhag jata hai,you can catch him outside,you need to keep an watch there too,'rathore instructed calmly,

'okay sir,'dixit agreed disheartened,

Sakshi brought a map of Goa airport from shree and placed it on the centre table.All stood around the map and planned their positions and moves.According to them all would scatter at differnt directions to avoid further suspicions.The back up team with dixit would wait at a secured place,away from general view,some distance from the airport.Dixit took the instructions properly and after a further long discussion went away.

After Dixit left,all of them sat down to plan for their next move.Rathore called chotu and asked for the arrangement.He informed them,that everything was done.Shree informed them at the chip couldnt be decoded yet.But he is working on it and would be done anytime soon.

Thus planned all dispered for dinner and some sleep after that.Next day would be hectic for all of them.

It was late night and rathore was still awake.Over tiredness,lack of sleep for some nights and then the heart wrenching revealations were taking a toll on him.He was not able to sleep.After a long time when he was not able to lay down with sleepless eyes anymore he sat up and walked out.He crossed the corridor and walked towards the exit.He walked out of the hotel and started to take a troll around the area.

He had almost reached the backside of the hotel when he found a female voice speaking.Happiness and calmness audible in her voice.She was speaking to someone in a very childish accent,smiling and giggling all the way.He turned but didnt find anyone around.The voice had also stopped and he thought it might be someone on the road.

He had just taken a few more steps when the voice started again.He followed the voice and finally found a girl sitting on the steps at the backyard,speaking on the phone.The girl was sitting with her back to him.He waited for a few moments but spoiling someone's privacy was never his nature.He turned around and started walking back.He took the third step and stopped when he heard the very known and familiar voice,

'Ayesha,jaldi aao,'sakshi shouted from a distance.

He looked back and found Aisha signal sakshi to go back,she would return in another 5 minutes.Sakshi went back and Ayesha returned back to her call.Sameer went near the steps she was sitting on and thats when Ayesha saw him standing.She immediately stood up holding the phone away from her ear but Sameer signalled her to sit raising his hand and walked past her to the boundary wall.

It was windy and it felt good to stand in the open air.The four walls inside the room was suffocating him.The winds blew his hair making him close his eyes and feel the relaxation it brought to his senses.He could still hear Ayesha speaking,but this time in her usual matured self and voice.

He didnt wanna disturb her or interfere in her private life but the sudden change in her and her happy voice made him inquisitive.But he kept to himself and didnt probe.He was enjoying the wind and calmness around when he felt her presence beside him.He opened his eyes and looked at her.She was not looking at him but into the darkness.But still he could feel the smile that was still lingering in her lips.He hesitated in the begining but finally made an attempt,

'everything fine ayesha?'he asked looking towards her,

'yes sir,'she replied back,

Thats when he noticed a small tinch of pain in her eyes.He was confused whether what he saw was right but thought of not probing further on it.He looked away again when he heard her speak again,

'ap soye nehi sir?'

'nehi neend nehi ayi,tum bhi to nehi soyi,'

'haan wo phone aa gaya ghar se,'

'sab thik hai?'he asked her softly,

'haan,'she said with a brief smile and looked away,

Sameer sensed there was something that was disturbing her.It could be something personal but he decided to give it a try,she too did when he was disturbed.

'ayesha kal ke liye pareshan ho?'

She instantly looked at him.

'no sir,we have done such things earlier aur Arjun sir hai to aur bhi pareshani nehi hai,he is a great officer,'she said confidently,

'to fir itni disturbed kiyu dikh rahi ho?'

She was shocked at his sudden concern.She had not expected or may be she did and thats the reason she had come to stand beside him.

'kuch nehi sir,humara proffesion hi kuch aisa hai ki personal life mein time nikalna bohot mushkil ho jata hai,isiliye'she told him with a shaky smile and sad eyes,

'ghar se complains haan?'he asked with a small smile and looked back into the dark again,

Ayesha smiled and nodded lowering her head.She started speaking looking at the darkness,

'haan mumbai mein reheti hu to adhi raat hi sahi,ghar to jati hu,per yaha hu to wo bhi nehi hota,'

'isi liye phone pe mana na parta hai,'rathore said in a teasing tone,

'haan wo bachi hai na,nehi samajhti,'she said with a happy smile

'bachi?'he asked frowning,

'meri beti sir,actually kal uska birthday hai,aur mein nehi aa paungi is liye thora...'ayesha said embarrased,

Sameer was surprised to know about her daughter but before he could ask her,she asked him,

'Ap ke ghar pe bhi complain karte hai na sir?'

Sameer was smiling but this question from ayesha made him quite,his smile disappeared and his face became stern.Ayesha was confused at the sudden change in him.She frowned at him when he signed and turned back,

'chalo ayesha raat bohot ho gayi hai,'he said and started walking back inside,

Ayesha kept looking at his retreating back confused and then walked inside,a long day was coming soon.
