Can Muslims on the forum please share their opinions?
As we all know, there are many anti-Islamic elements in Indian films. Some more than others.

The more strict Muslims feel that all films, music, etc. should be avoided. Less strict Muslims feel that it's okay to watch films that are devoid of nudity, sexuality, or unIslamic religious practices. That basically doesn't leave many Indian films.

Do any of you feel uneasy while watching Indian films? Do you feel that it is contrary to what Islam preaches? Do you fast forward intimate scenes or pooja scenes?

I have always felt uneasy watching certain films and scenes. But I have been even more uneasy lately and feel that some films (especially South Indian films) are full of shirk. Although we are all sure of our faith, some feel that these films have a negative affect on our sub-consciousness.

What bothers me the most is the pooja scenes. In South Indian films, there is also an inclination to show heroes as some sort of god or carrying the characteristics of God. This also bothers me a lot and I feel guilty for watching it. I guess I'm flustered because watching Indian films has become a habit, a fun pastime for me. It's my only entertainment and I'm not sure what I could replace this hobby with. But I obviously can't continue doing something that makes me uneasy.

Do you guys think it's okay to watch Indian films that are free of religious sentiments? Or are we doing something wrong by watching these films at all?

So because people are committing worse sins, we shouldn't try to perfect ourselves? That's a terrible logic.

I guess my post is for people who are trying to be good Muslims.

Its not allowed in Islam not only this but many things abs people still Do it. If you can keep your Imaan strong then nothing can influence you!!! You can avoid it and time pass you can watch religious videos read surahs or receir Quran'

Its hard but if you try you can!

Am no one to tell this because me myself i don't practice but if you could do it will be amazing! :)

Although i respect every religion!

Unless you follow every single tenet of your religious scriptures with absolute strictness and compliance, watching movies should not be very high on the list of activities that are harmful to your religious beliefs.

Although I'm not a muslim, but I'd still like to answer the question. Well first of all I guess accord to Islam movies and songs are not acceptable. So by even watching you in a way are defying the rules.
Then another point, you dont feel good while watching some scenes(even i dont like too much pooja aarti scenes) then dont watch it, I bet there are better options around.
Third, please excuse me if I offend your religious sentiments, but don't mind them simply because of religious issues, if you feel you like them, then all is cool. I do have many muslim friends and they themselves say that Islam and quran and shariya, all of them are thousands of years old, and with time, there should be a change in everything...so follow the rules which matter, and rest...let it be.
