Deepti Devi, who plays the lead in Parivar, is one girl who won't be complaining about the long working hours television demands. In fact she will find these timings a blessing. Why? Well, the actress who is an established face in Marathi serials worked harder than most of our Hindi soap stars while shooting because her parents refused to let her live in Mumbai. She had to commute from hometown Pune to Mumbai everyday for shooting! "I used to leave home at 3.30 am in the morning and would go back at 11.30 pm at night. The routine continued for quite some time and my parents realised that it was too hectic for me to travel everyday for work and auditions in Mumbai. Finally they allowed me to settle down in Mumbai a year ago," says the actress who didn't get a goodnight's sleep for over a year! Her never ending schedule made her put off trying her luck in Hindi soaps for ages. "I was very lazy and didn't feel like auditioning for Hindi serials where looks are given more importance than acting. Also waiting in queue with a 100 other girls wasn't appealing. But some people insisted that I audition for Parivar and things fell into place." |
