Heck, i don't know why i do this to myself. I am bang in the middle of the heaviest work season in the year, knee-deep in 2 (two!!!!!) stories and i have to go think of another one. Bleh.

But i have an urge to write this one. Dekhte hain.

No promises as to how regular i will be. But its going to be my relaxation writing when life becomes too stressful - or at least, that's what i tell myself 😆.

So, till i come back sometime tonight with a preview - enjoy the banner.

Preview

Arti Gupte: a woman in her mid-20s. School teacher, enjoying her work - thank you very much. Enjoying being single even more. Living with her parents, doing a job she loves, hanging out with her friends. Though granted, her old friends are dwindling in number - getting married, moving to different cities, or having babies, too busy with husband and family to have time for friends. Still, life is good. And free.

And then wham - she turns 25 and on her birthday her parents decide its time to get her married. Though, to be fair to them, they had been hinting for quite some time. Hints she had turned a deaf ear to. But now, no more hints. It was a clear-cut order. No choice. Blast - whatever for? Why must she get married anyway?? And why now? What was so special about this one guy??

Yash Scindia: in his early 30s. Well-to-do software engineer. Coming home for a short vacation, he is gobsmacked to hear he is supposed to get married - and right away. Hell no! He loves his bachelorhood, thank you very much. And then he sees her - the girl he is supposed to marry. Or rather, the girl his parents want him to meet. And marriage suddenly doesn't feel like death's door. On the contrary, he is quite willing to taste the infamous shaadi ka laddoo.

Author's note:
As the name implies, the story will be in the form of diary entries. I haven't yet decided if the entire story will be in that format. I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on that. And it also depends on how it works out story-wise / writing-wise.

This is my attempt to try my hand at something new, get out of my comfort zone. I almost never write in the first person - not fond of that. Diary entries on the other hand are almost always in the first person. So bear with me as i try my hand at something that is distinctly different and uncomfortable for me. You all have always been so supportive of my attempts - i hope you will indulge me this time as well.

BORNA!!!!!! 🤗 How are you?? Its seems its been forever! All settled in? How was the 1st semester?

Lol - don't know how much of a treat it will be for readers, but i do intend to enjoy myself. Some light writing is overdue. Broken Wings is so intense. And while Second Chances is much less so, its still not "light".

Am so happy that you're starting another story on... always loved your style of writing!!!! Aarti 's diary entry would be interesting but would also like Yash 's point of view...maybe a mixture of both would be nice!!! Can't wait to read!!!!!!!
