There are many reasons why
Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon was
different to other Indian shows. It
brought a fresh concept to Indian
television and its growing popularity
amongst the viewers since its
inception has proved that taking a
different approach can work
successfully. We're going to take a
look at just five reasons why
Madhubala was different from
other shows.

1. Larger Than Life Canvas
The show featured an idea that was
larger than life. We got to follow the
life of a film star and it basically
started off with a crime that a
superstar committed and how he
got away with it. It showed a brave
woman, Madhubala (Drashti Dhami),
who tried to stand up against the
crime and get justice.
2. 70s Bollywood Era FeelThe show has a very 70s Bollywood
era feel to it especially since they
had many flashbacks wherein they
showed the past of Madhubala's
mother, Padmini (Pallavi Purohit).
Also, RK (Vivian Dsena) the
superstar reminded us of the 80s
superstars who carried themselves
with a larger than life attitude.
3. Rishabh Kundra Aka RK: The
Unbeatable SuperstarRK (Vivian Dsena) was the
superstar. He commanded
everyone's attention and got
whatever he wanted. Haunted by
the suicide of his father and the
remarriage of his mother, he put
up walls around him and had a
sarcastic attitude towards life. He
was unbeatable, even when the
heroine, Madhubala, tried to put
him in jail. He always found a way
out and eventually even went on to
win the heart of the very person
who had tried to put him away. RK
is not your typical hero. He has
many different shades and has
shown them all, but still came out
on top as the unbeatable superstar.
4. Hum Hain Deewane- The
Passionate Ishq' With Junoon'In the title of the show itself we are
promised ishq along with junoon
and we got nothing less than that.
Whether it was dragging your to be
wife from the mandap or jumping
off a building to prove your love,
the show had its fair share of
junoon with ishq. The unique song
for this Jodi is hum hain deewane'
and that very accurately describes
the love they share. RK and
Madhu's Ishq and Junoon was
crystal clear and it was completely
unique.
5. Background Of The Story Was
Around The Film FraternityThe background of the storyline in
the show was around the film
fraternity and that made it so
different from other shows. We got
to see some of the struggles that
extras go through on the sets. All in
all it engages the audiences who
witness the story of the show
growing in and around the sets of
films.

What made MEIEJ different was it was based on an egoistic and sar phira superstar 😆 who lived life on his own terms, and not a run of the mill heroine based saga. People loved RK and watched the more for RK than for any other reason.
